Flex, a sports agility champion, was referred to Dr. Felix Duerr, in our

Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Service,

for further evaluation and treatment of a forelimb

lameness due to a digital flexor tendon rupture.

Flex was also diagnosed with mild tearing of the glenohumeral ligament and secondary cartilage changes of his shoulder

joint. He was treated with surgery to repair the

tendon tear, an orthosis to support the repair, and stem-cell therapy for his

shoulder. Flex is now back to competing successfully.

UNDER ONE

ROOF

As the tertiary referral center for the Intermountain West, we house 79 veterinarians on clinics, representing 28 boarded specialties. They’re backed by leading technologies – and the expertise and care of 650 faculty, interns, residents, technicians, staff, students, and volunteers. All here for you, your clients, and your patients.

Page 3: JAMES L. VOSS VETERINARY TEACHING HOSPITAL

Our “Under One Roof” campaign (opposite page) invites you into the hospital to get to know our services, people and patients. And, as part of our coordinated outreach efforts, this Hospital Directory is updated annually with new faculty and house officers to make it easier for you to keep up to date on who is serving you and your clients. We invite you think of us as an extension of your own practice, from emergency referrals to the most challenging clinical cases. As the regional tertiary referral center, we offer the latest technologies delivered by a caring, dedicated, highlytrained staff. To keep you informed of changes throughout the year, we have created a quarterly rDVM email newsletter. To subscribe, just email us at [email protected], and we will add you to the mailing list. Please, let us know what else you'd like to hear about us. We look forward to building our partnerships with you, our referring veterinarians.

Sincerely,

Timothy B. Hackett, D.V.M., M.S., DACVECCHospital Director
