Although my professional skills, proficient softwares and professional certifications are neatly listed along with my career summary outlining the usual job duties associated with each position my resume cannot fully illustrate my experience or abilities. I first learned fractions (long before I was taught them in school) while sitting on the fender of the family sedan handing my father wrenches – When I was six the neighborhood kids would bring me their bikes to repair – At 12 when the other kids were playing I was building my first hotrod with my father and delivering news papers for spending money. As a young pipefitter helper, mastering the skills of the trade, my supervisors recognized my enthusiasm and desire to learn and rewarded me by teaching me all they could. If there was a complex, difficult or unique task I was on it, from there I went on to become a master welder, qualified in many processes and procedures. Self-employment was the next big move, it was there that I was able to reach beyond the technical skills of a craftsman and discover new skills in design, development and management of construction projects as well as some very valuable lessons about trust and honesty.

Today I have over 36 years of experience, including more than 26 years in design and management. I am experienced with a variety of Industrial Plants (Refining, Cryo, Petro-Chemical, Power, Pulp and Paper), Offshore Maintenance and Construction, Shipyards, Military Bases, Medical Facilities and Commercial construction projects. I have worked for worked for some of the largest and most successful construction companies in the country, if not the world, including – Fluor Daniel, Brown and Root, Zachry, BE&K, Performance Contractors, Turner Industries and Grand Isle Shipyard.

I believe that good planning and organization as well as proper placement and utilization of resources (manpower and equipment) along with a strict adherence to schedule and budget are key to any successful project. I am fluent in a variety of software applications as well as construction and fabrication techniques and I believe I could be a great asset to virtually any construction company. I am constantly seeking to increase my knowledge and expand my horizons. Feel free to contact me at your convenience.

Sincerely,

“As a young man I started my career in the construction industry as a pipefitter helper. I advanced quickly and took advantage of the many lessons as

they arose. To this day one of the best lessons that I have learned is that in Life (as well as Construction) there is always room for compromise.”
