JAL HOUSE BULLETIN AUGUST 2019

Dear Parents, Greetings!!! Another power packed month is over with the boys showcasing their talents in a number of events. August was a month of festivities and celebrations and is one of the most vibrant months of the year. The highlights of the month were:

Fooseball table in the common room • The common room now has been equipped with a fooseball table and the boys are loving it.

Inter House Folk Dance Competition August 3, 2019 ( Group and Solo) • The house stood 1st in the Group dance competition and an overall 2nd position considering the group and solo together. The group performance showcased Kalbeliyaand Katputli dance forms of Rajasthan and the solo ( Bhangra) was performed by Utkarsh Bhatia of class 11.

WELMUN 2019 August 3 - 5, 2019 •

The boys participated in the Model United Nations conducted by the Wellham Boys School.

Tulas Confluence Annual Fest August 10, 2019 •

Shining bright in the event held in Tula's International School. In the Business Tycoon competition Team Gullak won the first prize. The idea basically eradicates the problem of change, you must have observed that whenever or wherever you encounter the problem of change the shopkeeper hands over petty items like candies and chocolates or we choose to overpay. To solve this conundrum we have created a cloud based money handling system in which these small and miserable amount gets piled up. This amount can be used on the next payment. This will also solve the problem of black/unaccounted money which accumulates as people often overpay. The team comprised of 5 students, three of them being Jalites: Adarsh Bageria, Devan Malik and Aryan Harde (Commerce Grade 12)

Invitational Football Tournament August 10 - 15, 2019 • SeQuins gave their best but the Sagar School, Rajasthan, emerged as winners.

The street play “TOBA TEK SINGH” performed by the •Rangmanch Society (Hindi Dramatics Society) of the school August 14, 2019 to commemorate the Partition of India.

RISS Rifle Shooting Competition August 15 - 17, •2019

I feel proud to inform that 03 boys of the house: Dikshant Sharma (grade 9), Gursartaj Bir Singh ( grade 11) and Raghav Sikka ( grade 12 ) have been selected for pre nationals.

Independence Day August 15, 2019 • The Independence day was celebrated with great fervour.

Inter House Chess Competition August 16, 2019 • The house stood 1st in the competition. The team comprised of Rudra Pratap Sing ( grade 09 ), Shourya Mittal ( grade 10) and Yashika Kaushik ( grade 12).

The house stood 2nd in the competition. The team comprised of Bruhan Batra ( grade 12) and Hridev Arora ( grade 12)

1st SelaQui Science Decathlon, QSD 2019 •Curtains descended on the first edition of SelaQui Science Decathlon with the Indian Public School being declared the overall winners. The decathlon saw teams from various schools competing against each other in 10 events across 2 days. A multitude of scientifically oriented events ranging from a Science Congress to a Treasure Hunt tested each participant's critical thinking and cognitive abilities.

Tutor Tutee Outings •These would be the most awaited outings as the boys get to watch a movie with their tutor, not to mention the delicious food that follows.

The boys are now preparing for their Half Yearly Examinations which will begin from September 16, 2019. •They are in good shape and working hard towards their academic grades.
