Streetdance has spun into a worldwide phenomenon. Over the last five years, it has come to dominate our television screens, the RnB music scene, YouTube and has now made its move into Film, with lucrative returns. The talent show phenomenon of recent years has catapulted several dance acts into the limelight – the best of which are involved in this film – and has begun its move into the mainstream. Sportswear and technology brands are already showing a willingness to invest in the Streetdance stars of the future; Samsung and Adidas being two examples.

Through the course of this package, we aim to demonstrate how early investment in Through the course of this package, we aim to demonstrate how early investment in this genre of dance will reap great rewards in the future. As in the early days of Hip Hop, those who invested early in its move to the mainstream music scene, have been heavily rewarded.

Jake Fortune is an exciting amalgamation of some of the UK’s best known and best Jake Fortune is an exciting amalgamation of some of the UK’s best known and best loved Streetdancers, a genre-defining screenplay and some of the industry’s most re-spected and innovative filmmakers. We believe it has all the elements necessary to be the perfect investment, particularly in the current economic climate. Investors can expect to gain significant tax advantages through investment in film; several options are outlined below, as well as the opportunity to gain an additional revenue stream through box office revenues and merchandise sales. For those art-loving investors, there is the opportunity to be involved in the Film production process and to be credited as Executive Producers.

Inception

Jake Fortune is the brainchild of international Streetdance star and choreographer, Glen Murphy; Pulse, of the dance act Twist and Pulse. Glen is a BRIT school graduate, whose famous alumni include Adele, Amy Winehouse and Jessie J, and shot to fame when Twist and Pulse came second on the hugely popular ITV talent show Britain’s Got Talent. Please see page 13 for full biography.

Glen has created a concept that has the potential to be genre-defining, but is groundGlen has created a concept that has the potential to be genre-defining, but is ground-ed in business reality. He wanted to make the movie a “film” first and a “dance movie” second; something he and dance fans agree has been lacking in most recent dance-based films. He takes his inspiration from other popular films of this genre, such as “Dirty Dancing”, “Flashdance” and “Footloose”, where the dancing is impor-tant, but takes a back seat to the story and characters. Glen’s aim is to do for Street-dance, what “Karate Kid” which did for martial arts; make it accessible to young and old alike; dancers and non-dancers.

This is going to be the first dance film to incorporate comedy into the choreography. Twist and Pulse are famous for having founded this genre; Streetomedy. However, what really sets it apart is that unlike any dance film made before, it is science fiction and will be in 3D.

Credibility of cast and crewWe have lined up some of the best-known artists within their respective fields. Crowd-pulling actors and musicians include Rob Lowe (Brat-pack and West Wing), Chris Brown (International R&B Superstar) and Pixie Lott (UK actress and Singer). Famous dance crews, such as Diversity (Winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2009) and Team iLuminate are also amongst the talented cast. Together these names have the ability to attract worldwide audiences across a diverse demographic.

Film Synopsis

In a parallel universe of hyper-reality, where war is a thing of the past and all efforts are put into creativity and technology, is the dance capital of the world ‘PINEAPPLE VALLEY’.

JAKE FORTUNE is an extraordinary dancer with a talent only surpassed by his compasJAKE FORTUNE is an extraordinary dancer with a talent only surpassed by his compas-sion and humanity. Jake opens a dance studio in remembrance of his deceased mother, teaching the under-privileged and giving them an opportunity to express their talents. Unfortunately, RYAN STRIKE, the son of a billionaire technology expert VIKTOR STRIKE, is hellbent on making himself the brightest star in the dance galaxy and is focused on his own fame and grandeur as he intends to take over the world of street dance by fair means or foul. Ryan decides that Strike Industries should control all of the dance schools and dancers in the Valley and defends his actions by asserting all of the dance schools and dancers in the Valley and defends his actions by asserting that it is for the good of the Valley to insure they stay on top.

Secretly utilising his father’s money, power and influence, Ryan bribes the govern-ment to enact a new law, consolidating all dance related businesses under his control, under the banner of STRIKE INDUSTRIES. Forcing the street dancers to work for him, he deprives them of their freedom of expression and their businesses. Jake is amongst them, losing 'GOOD FORTUNE' Studios. With his disciples, Jake flees to the under-ground in an act of defiance, resisting Ryan’s maniacal grab for power and glory. Jake and his crew train secretly in the shadows, rehearsing and developing their style away from the dogmatic control of Ryan. Little do they know that government forces are watching - waiting for the right moment to pounce. Finally the day arrives and they descend on Jake, imprisoning him under the terms of the corrupt new law. Locked away in the darkness, Jake feels all hope is lost and that Ryan has won.

Returning from a long business trip, Viktor Strike is furious when he finds out what Ryan has been doing with his company and to the Valley in his absence. Ryan tries to convince his father that it’s good for business and his crew will be known as ‘TEAM STRIKE’ promoting the company worldwide. Viktor is not convinced, pays for Jakes’ bail and arranges a meeting at Strike towers between Jake, Ryan and himself. Viktor is poised to launch a spectacular exhibition of his latest simulation technology and sees the aggravated situation between the two dancers as the perfect opportunity to garner the most exposure for his business whilst repairing his families’ reputation. garner the most exposure for his business whilst repairing his families’ reputation. Viktor proposes a live televised dance contest; a face-off between Ryan, Jake and their crews in his own Strike Towers. Each floor in the tower will be fitted with the latest Strike technologies; Ryan and his finest students will be pitted head to head against Jake and his crew. Broadcast to a global audience, the viewing public will decide who is truly the best and the winner will become ‘TEAM STRIKE’ with global fame the next stop.

Shooting on the Red Epic

The first feature film to be shot on the Red Epic was The first feature film to be shot on the Red Epic was Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Contagion’. Great film directors have also started to use the Red Epic camera; Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’, Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’, Rob Marshall’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean4’ and even Len Wiseman’s ‘Total Recall’ these are just a few to name that have shot the full feature on the Red Epic.

For a while, IMAX and theme park theatres became one of the only places to see 3D films. Exhibitions such as James Cameron’s Terminator 2 3D, shot in 65mm stereo, proved popular with audiences. The box office of IMAX films was healthy, with Into the Deep grossing $71.3M, Space Sta-tion $95.1M and T-Rex 3D $98.1M.

But on the whole, regular cinemas did not embrace 3D due, in part, to the cost of having specialised projectors and the lack of good films to justify this expenditure. There were exceptions such as Spy Kids 3-D, which grossed $190M

The impact of digital 3D TV on today's moviemaking has been compared to the introduction of colour film when there was only black and white. One of the strongest trends in visual effects films today is stereoscopic capture, post-production and projec-tion. Technology caught up just as theatre owners were looking for ways to hold and appeal to a media saturated audience.
