From the Principal´s diary….

Dear Parents,

In this edition of Jagriti, I would like to refer about using your values to raise caring, responsible,

resilient children

Values are the beliefs that each person considers are important for himself and possibly for humanity

as a whole. For a value to be truly your own, you must act on it and your behaviour must reflect it.

Parenting is not just about caring for the physical growth of the child, it is every bit about the mental

growth too. Parents play the vital role in the character formation of the child and have the most impact

on how the child turns out to be in life as he grows up.

Some people argue that children learn their morals on their own, or that preschool is too early for

children to be learning about moral values and ideas. However, that is false; it is best to teach your

child about such values when he is really young so that it becomes a part of him and grows with him

as his personality forms.

Respect: Many parents make the mistake of teaching their children only about respect for elders, but

that is wrong. Everyone deserves respect, regardless of age or social standing. Respect is an essential

moral value that your child must know about at a young age, as it plays an important role in his

behavior around strangers and elders. If a toddler learns to respect his peers and his elders from a

young age, there is no doubt that he will benefit from this in the future. Even when the times get

tough in the future, you child will be more solicitous of others.

I would like to conclude by mentioning that moral values must be instilled in children right from the

beginning, and no age is too early to start.
