To Whom It May Concern:
I am very interested in a finance internship for the summer of 2015. I recently completed my first semester as a master’s student in finance at the University of South Florida, and I will be completing the program in the fall of 2015. I also hold a marketing degree, which has proven beneficial to my current field of study. The knowledge I have gained through my coursework, coupled with my drive to succeed, has given me the ability to excel in a role that requires a sharp intellect, professional temperament, and determination that will lead to success. A professional finance internship represents an excellent opportunity to utilize my analytical and problem solving skills to the benefit of my employer. I am a quick learner and will be able to gain prompt understanding with respect to my given responsibilities through alert observation, focused study, and ultimately, successful execution of my assignments. I have a strong understanding of mathematical and quantitative information, having been enrolled in numerous engineering and advanced math courses. If hired, your company will gain not only a hard-‐working employee, but also someone with a developed skillset in analytics and problem solving. Though my coursework has taught and challenged me in my knowledge of business principles, I have applied my understanding through the operation of a small photography business. During my two years as a business owner (while simultaneously pursuing my education), I have served nearly 50 clients, have successfully provided for myself financially, further developed my organizational and multi-‐tasking capabilities, attained a deeper understanding of profits and losses, and have faced many of the challenges associated with running a business. The attached resume contains additional information about my educational and professional background and expertise. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to discussing my qualifications and the benefits I’m confident your company would realize by allowing me to be a part of your organization.
