Pastors Notes... Greetings My Brothers & Sisters In Christ It's been a wonderful summer and the Lord has been and is blessing us tremendously here at Jackson Spring Hill. Our revival was a spiritual success as always. We got to see lots of people and many of them said that the revival just keeps getting better and better. We thank God for that!! We pray and fast and God honors our service. We are looking ahead to the fall and to the holiday season. Time is moving so fast. Thanksgiving and Christmas is almost upon us. Our Bible study has grown, and we are learning so much about the Lord and our lives are much better. We thank God for those that continue to come out faithfully and study the Word of God. We thank God for those who come and visit us and share their testimonies. We are a small church where the Spirit of the Lord Lives... If you want to praise and worship the Lord, please come and visit us. You will be so glad that you did. May God continue to bless and keep you in His care. You Want Change in Washington? Elect Dr. Shirley J. McKellar to U.S.

Congress for District 1, Texas!

Dr. Shirley J. McKellar is a 2018 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st

Congressional District of Texas. The 1st Congressional District of Texas consists of Tyler (Smith County), Lufkin (Angelina County), Longview (Gregg County),

Marshall (Harrison County) and Nacogdoches (Nacogdoches Co). She is running against Louie B. Gohmert who has held the position since 2005. If you want change,

you should elect Dr. McKellar for that to happen. Now you can help do that by making sure you are a registered voter in Texas. That

deadline to register is Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

If you are already a registered voter, and you unable to get to the polls due to you are over 65, disabled, or

you will be absent from the county, or confinement in jail, you may request an Application for Ballot by Mail from the Board of Elections Office in your area. You still have time to get everything ready for you to vote in the 2018 General Election. Also, please remember that

early voting begins October 22nd and ends November 2nd. General Election is Tuesday, November 6th. We encourage you to help others get to the voting booth and pass the word about Dr. McKellar. She is the "One"

LaFond – Hood Family and friends were present to witness the marriage of Arielle Patricia

LaFond and Robin Johnson Hood Saturday, September 22, 2018 at five o’clock in the evening at the Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas. Arielle, daughter of Patricia Hanlan and Chilov Lafond is a quality engineer at Lockheed Martin in Ft Worth, Texas. Robin, son of Joy Johnson and Rainey L. Hood is co-owner of Overhead Door Pros, Grand Prairie, Texas. In November, Arielle and Robin will honeymoon in Thailand. The couple resides in Irving, Texas.

Obituaries Anthony D’Carlos Scott Anthony D’Carlos Scott was born on April 22, 1956 to Herman Lee and Bertha Scott. After his father’s death, he was raised by Bertha and James Swindle, who both preceded him in death. Anthony grew up in Tyler, Texas where he attended and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Anthony was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church where he joined at an early age. Anthony joined in

marriage to Mae Joyce Gray and her children, Bonita Miles (Leroy), Alice Swepson (Albert), Gwendolyn Gray, Minister Twonya Madlock Owens (Wade). Mae Joyce preceded Anthony in death. Later in life he moved to Temecula, California with Antoinette Temple and her children, Wanda Hubbard (Mark) and Anthony Suffren. In addition to Anthony’s parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Glenda Scott Towels and Nova Scott Reece, Lillie Jordan and brother Sylvester Swindle, brothers-in-law Danny Reece and Joe Oliver. On August 27, 2018, Anthony went home to be with the Lord. He lived a life full of love, laughter and excitement. He will be missed by Antoinette Temple, sisters, Gloria Scott Oliver, LaToshia Williams (Todd), Jennie V. Calvin, and Lena Swindle; brothers, Hercules Scott (Gloria), and James Swindle III; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. Memorial Service was held 2 pm, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas.

Velma Ruth Beal McMoore

Velma Ruth Beal McMoore was born on October 16, 1940 to the parentage of Theodore Roosevelt Beal, Sr and Emmer Loretta Beal, who preceded her in death. Velma attended Dixie (Carver) Public School and graduated from Jackson High School. She was married to the late Daniel Webster Sanders, Sr for twenty-five years and they raised five children. She later married Tommy McMoore. After thirteen years of marriage he preceded her in

death. Later she met and fell in love with Earl Thorn where she happily lived out the last nineteen years of her life. Earl stayed by her side until her passing. Velma was a member of Holy Missionary Baptist Church for many years and later became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Patrick S. Beal and Verta L. McCleveland; brothers, Grady L. Beal and James W. Beal. Velma leaves to cherish her memory her children, K’Deron Ricky Sanders (Renee) of Imperial County, CA, Zeta Renee Blackshear (Marty), Anitra Sherelle Cole (Charles), Daniel Webster Sanders, Jr. all of Ontario, CA and Kenyatta Sanders (Tracy) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; three

Services for Jimmy Ray Kimbrell, 75, of Bullard, Texas were held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, Texas with Reverend Johnny Williams officiating. Burial was in the Overton City Cemetery. Mr. Kimbrell passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 in Tyler. He was born May 10, 1943 in Carlisle to the late Earl and Minnie Pauline Kimbrell. He graduated from Kilgore High School in 1961 and attended Kilgore College. He had several careers in his life, from working in the oil fields, cooking in restaurants and most recently he was a home health aide in Tyler. He lived and worked in Tyler for over 2 decades until he retired in 2005 and was loved by many over the years. He was a colorful man who enjoyed plants, gardening and had a passion for all animals. His devotion to animals is a tribute to the beauty of his heart and soul. Besides his parents, Jimmy is also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Kimbrell, Leroy Kimbrell, Garland Eugene Kimbrell, and Richard Kimbrell. Survivors include, a son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Sherrie Kimbrell of Richardson, TX; sister, Joeann Knight of Kilgore, TX; best friend, Kelley Newman of Bullard, TX; his beloved nephews, James Bradford Kimbrell of Conway, Arkansas, and Robert Scott Kimbrell of Mesa, Arizona; a granddaughter, Zoe and her husband Dan Gilman; special friend, Jack Ross of Tyler; as well as various other nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law all throughout East Texas and Colorado, whom he also loved dearly.

Funeral services for Mr. John A. Dews, 75, Tyler were held 11:00 am

Friday, July 13, 2018 at Smith Temple COGIC with Elder Oliver Hall as eulogist. Burial was in Cathedral In The Pines Cemetery

under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler. Survivors include wife, Claudine Dews; son, Ricky (Gaile) Barnes; daughter, Connie Barnes; three brothers; seven sisters;

three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

brothers, Theodore R. Beal, Jr. (Luella) of Denver, CO, Marlin L. Beal (Hazel) and Danny O. Beal both of Tyler, Tx; two sisters, Elnora Mercadel (Walbert) of Tucson, AZ and Rubye J. Beal of Tyler, TX; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great–grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life service was held Noon, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Danny O. Beal was the eulogist. Interment was in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA under the direction of Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mortuaries.

( Dr. McKellar continued ) Dr. Shirley McKellar Bio: McKellar earned her undergraduate degrees in nursing and chemistry from Texas Women's University. She then received a master's degree from the University of Texas and a Ph.D. in nursing management from the Columbus College of Public Health & Administration. McKellar has worked in a variety of positions, including education, nursing and the military. She spent 16 years of active duty in the U.S. Army. She is currently the founder and CEO of McKellar-McKellar-Ntaka and Associates, Inc., a 501(c) 3

nonprofit organization.

Dr. McKellar Grassroots Initiative.

Established a non-profit organization to aid abused women and children.

Provided mediation services and managed the African American Breast Cancer Outreach Program (AABCO) at the University of Texas College of Nursing, Austin Texas, where she served as On-Site Director at the Tyler location.

She is a national and international motivational speaker on breast cancer awareness and other women's issues; having stood and addressed the 4th European Congress on, "Healthcare Disparities" in Berlin.

Initiated a children's evening care program that was open until midnight. As she states, "We live in a 24/7 society and our children must be cared for at all times."
