Forestry ProductionTimberland accounted for 62.2 percent of the surface land area of Jackson County. Total forestry production contributed 6.6 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

Overall Contributions to Jackson CountyJackson County’s agricultural, forestry, and related industries generated 7,168 full- and part-time jobs, representing 30.2 percent of the county’s total workforce (23,714 jobs).

The total impact of agriculture, forestry, and related industries was $868.5 million, which was 26.1 percent of the county’s total economic activity ($3.3 billion). The indirect business taxes impact was $29.1 million, 32.0 percent of the county’s total indirect business taxes.
