Todays Game:The Generals kick off a ve-game series with the Mississippi Braves with Jacksons home openeron Wednesday night...Jackson and Mississippi will play each other 17 times in 2015, the most meetings that the Generals

will have with any Southern Division squad...Stephen Landazuri, Jacksons Opening Night starter in Jacksonville, is starting

todays opener...Landazuri started a 2-0 combined shutout at the Jacksonville Suns on Opening Night - April 9, 2015

Versus Mississippi:Todays contest is the rst of 17 meetings between the Generals and the Braves thisseason...These teams split a 10-game season-series in 2014 with each side winning ve games apiece.

Our Hands (And Game) Are Tied:Jacksons rst tie game in franchise history came in its seriesnale at Jacksonville on Monday. The Generals and Suns were left with a 0-0, seven-inning draw due to rain. This also

marked the Southern Leagues rst tie since May 15, 2009 (Carolina at Birmingham, 3-3 in 11 innings).

Thats a Relief:The bullpen has been a bright spot for Jackson over the teams rst ve games. Eight Jacksonrelief pitchers have given up just two runs over 15.2 innings, good for a 1.15 ERA. Theyve punched out 13 batters while

walking just ve. All eight members of the bullpen have appeared at least once thus far, and six have tossed a scoreless

inning or more in an outing.

Power Outage:Though eight of the 12 active position players on Jacksons roster hit 10 or more home runs lastyear, the Generals have failed to hit a long ball in their rst ve games of 2015. Jackson is the only team in the Southern

League without a homer. The team does have seven extra-base hits (ve doubles, two triples).

Back in Jackson: Jacksons 25-man active Opening Day roster features 17 players who played for the Generalsin 2014. D.J. Peterson and Dan Paolini, who tied for the team lead last season with 13 home runs, are both back with the

Generals. Dario Pizzano, who ranked third on the club with 55 RBIs last season returns to West Tennessee as well. Moises

Hernandez and Kyle Hunter, who both made more than 30 relief appearances for the team in 2014, make up part of the

2015 bullpen. Additionally, Manager Jim Horner and Pitching Coach Lance Painter are back in the Generals dugout.

Offensive Firepower:The 2015 Generals gure to feature a powerful offense, as all ve of the top-30Seattle prospects according to Baseball Americaon the squad are hitters: D.J. Peterson (2), Gabriel Guerrero (7), Jordy

Lara (15), Jack Reinheimer (17) and Julio Morban (25). Eight players hit 10 or more home runs last year, including four that

surpassed 15: Gabriel Guerrero (18), Jordy Lara (26), Jabari Henry (30) and D.J. Peterson (31). Guerrero and Lara were

two of just seven minor league players to hit .300 with 90 runs scored, 45 extra-base hits and 90 runs batted in, while

Peterson was one of ve to hit 30 home runs while driving in more than 100.

Olson Earns First Big League Win: Lefty Tyler Olson earned his rst MLB win Saturday, pitchinga scoreless tenth inning in Seattles 5-4 win over Oakland. In his debut on April 7, the southpaw became the 52nd former

Generals/Diamond Jaxx player to go on to make his big league debut in the Seattle era (since 2007) and the rst in 2015.

The Spokane native was the only player not on the Seattle 40-man roster at the start of Spring Training to make the team.

Olson started 22 games for the Generals in 2014. He nished strong, going 5-1 with a 1.18 ERA in August.

On The Clock:Saturday was the rst time that baseballs new pitch clocks were used in the Southern League. These clocks will be used in Double-A and Triple-A contests in 2015 as part of Major League Baseballs new pace-of-play

initiatives. Within 20 seconds of the prior pitch, pitchers will have to begin their motion or come set while hitters have to

set foot in the batters box. There will also be breaks of 2:25 between innings and for each pitching change. April will serveas a grace period, but penalties including nes, automatic balls and automatic strikes will be implemented starting in May.
