19. Augmentation of Water Supply for Sadar Bazar and Modiwada Area

To consider and approve a proposal for augmentation / improvement to the present

water supply scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 36 lakhs.

The Board is running its water supply scheme through an OH Tank situated

at Tagore Garden since 1990-91.

Over the years the numbers of connections have increased alongwith the

population & areas like B. No. 43, 44, 45, 46, Ashok Marg, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar &

Sanjay Gandhi Nagar Bagicha areas in ward No. 03 individual connections have

increased considerably. Due to these conditions supply hours to entire areas have been

affected.

The main reasons for interrupted water supply are also due to uneven levels viz.

Passi Mohalla, 18 Qtrs being in low lying areas thus proper water does not flow in areas

at higher levels i.e. houses between St. No. 1 & St. No. 2 [Between St. no. 11 & St. No.

20] as per plan enclosed.

It is therefore requested that we may a lay separate distribution pipe line from

OHT to St. No. 1/21 which shall connect the distribution line to Modiwada area with this

existing sluice values in St. No. 01, Sadar Bazar shall all be opened permanently for

proper supply to Sadar Bazar area.

The approx pipeline required for this project will be

New (i) DI Pipe K-9 200mmφ 900 rmt

New (ii) Specials as per requirement.

(iii) Sluice Valves as per requirement.

The above work shall be executed under maintenance head for which budget

provision exists.

The work shall be entrusted to M/s S K Construction Co. @ approved rates of the

Board.

Relevant documents are placed on the table.
