Sanderson Arcade was offi cially opened by Joanna Lumley in November 2009 and over the last 6 years the centre has grown in reputation – becoming one of the most popular shopping destinations in the North East. The Arcade is home to over 30 stores offering high quality retail including Marks & Spencer, Laura Ashley, Hobbs, Monsoon as well as some fantastic independent retailers – all aimed at ‘Making Shopping Special’. The Edwardian style arcade includes a stunning open air piazza area, fi rst fl oor offi ce accommodation and a bus station which welcomes over 250 buses a day – attracting in excess of 60,000 visitors per week. The catchment area includes Morpeth, Blyth, Cramlington, Ashington as well as Ponteland, Gosforth and Alnwick and we also attract shoppers from other areas including Hexham and Berwick.
