OBJECTIVE To obtain a job in the engineering or systems engineering field focusing on the mechanical design and application of systems and/or products.
EXPERIENCE Customer Sales Associate, Office Depot North Little Rock, AR — May 2014 - October 2014 The duties of this job include assisting customers, stocking items, working the cash register, and cleaning the store(floor, bathrooms, backrooms, etc.).
Skills Learned
● Even though this is not an engineering position, I did learn some valuable skills while working here.
● The customer is the focus. Their needs go above our wants or preferences.
● People skills- I learned how to deal with a variety of people in a professional manner. When the customer felt dissatisfied, it was my job to help them with their problems. I learned how to pinpoint their want/need and then locate the specific product that would make the best solution.
EDUCATION University of Arkansas at Little Rock Systems Engineering — 2012 - Present Year: Junior GPA: 3.5 Classes Taken or Am Taking Relevant to Career: Engineering Chemistry , C/C++ Programming , Physics 1 &2 , Circuits and Systems , Probability Theory and Random Variables , Creative Design, Engineering Statics , Solid Modeling and Design , Engineering Dynamics , Engineering Materials , Engineering Thermodynamics , Discrete Event Systems Modeling and Simulation , Systems Engineering Design and Analysis , Manufacturing Process , Engineering Economy , Mechanics of Materials
SKILLS ● Excellent people skills - from working as a customer sales associate at
a retail store to being involved in campus ministry, I have gained a lot of experience talking, working, and collaborating with people that are different than I am.
● Teamwork - I have worked in a teamwork environment the past couple years with Chi Alpha, a campus ministry I helped found on the UALR campus. Also, working with workers and customers at Office Depot helped me with my teamwork skills tremendously. If one person is out of the loop, then the store suffers whether that be sales or repeat customers.
● I am diligent in my classes. I almost always make A’s and B’s. Also,
as a Junior I have experience working with machines and knowledge of systems engineering and mechanical engineering in general.
ORGANIZATIONS INVOLVED WITH ● Chi Alpha founder - UALR campus ministry ● ASHRAE member - Engineering organization that works with students
at UALR. There are many events that I try to attend such as factory tours, etc. Many helpful skills are learned here.
● Celebrate Recovery worker- Ministry at a church in North Little Rock. I work in the sound booth.

Academic Projects Simulation, fabrication and measurement of 1) Novel Defected Ground Structures (DGS) used in applications such
as low pass filters resonating at 3.1 GHz and 2) a 5.8 GHz proximity coupled annular ring antenna for applications in wireless power transfer. Simulations were successfully performed by CST Microwave Studio and Ansys HFSS. Complete measurement setups for the S-parameters using an Agilent Vector Network Analyzer E5071B (300 kHz - 8.5 GHz). Radiation pattern was successfully measured in the three planes of the antenna using an ETS-Lindgren anechoic chamber.
Selected to participate in the SUPER (Summer Undergraduate Program for Entrepreneurs and Research). I was tasked with researching and designing a wind turbine that could be used for harvesting roadside wind energy. I fabricated a prototype Vertical Axis Wind Turbine that is still being used for this on-going research project.
