Artist in Residence University of California, Davis 2020-2021* Performances of new works for voice, guest teaching.

Voice Faculty Kneisel Hall Chamber Music School & FestivalSummer 2020*

While originally scheduled to be an artist-in-residence for a week during the course of the seven week festival (giving concerts with pianist Jane Coop and other faculty, as well as leading two master classes and open rehearsals), the festival was canceled due to COVID-19. Instead, the position was converted to a full-summer position as voice faculty, teaching remotely.

Contemporary Performance Program Manhattan School of Music2020-2021*

Visiting voice faculty at Manhattan School of Music’s Contemporary Performance Program to replace soprano Lucy Shelton while she is on sabbatical. Teaching individual instruction in contemporary vocal performance practice as well as chamber music coaching.

Graduate Vocal Arts Program Bard College Conservatory of Music Fall 2019 – Present Both applied and classroom teaching. Courses include Core Seminar III, one of the four primary classes making up the graduate voice curriculum, with a focus on American art song, and Vocal Chamber Music, and Italian Diction. Other teaching duties also include coaching graduate students in preparation for the fall opera scenes and spring full opera production.

Director of Vocal Program Cornell University Fall 2019 – Present Lead Cornell’s vocal program, including overseeing faculty of six instructors. Audition and recruit students. Teach weekly studio classes. Organize concerts and master classes throughout the semester, including invited guests Ricardo Lugo and Dawn Upshaw. Maintain a studio of undergraduate and graduate voice students with a variety of backgrounds and interests. Students have gone on to esteemed graduate programs in voice, and have been equipped to tackle repertoire in a variety of languages and musical styles, including challenging 20th and 21st century repertoire as well as historically-informed approaches to repertoire from the Renaissance through the early Classical period.

Guest Lectures Various universities Fall 2016 – Present Lectures on writing for the voice given to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of California, Davis (Fall 2016), Cornell University (Fall 2018), Colgate College (Spring 2019), the University of Connecticut, Storrs (Spring 2019). Lectures on vocal health given to students at SUNY Schenectady (Spring 2020) and Princeton Pro Musica (Spring 2020).

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT Editor Sparks & Wiry Cries Fall 2015 – present Manage and create content for the Sparks & Wiry Cries online magazine, The Art Song Magazine, and social media accounts, including important repositories of works and performances by African-American artists. Edit articles for online magazine, as well as other print materials (press releases, programs, artist bios, and more). Grant writing (and editing thereof).
