Powless called the meeting to order 8:00 p.m. Prayer by Irene Moore. Discussion on Native American Packaging Co. Proposal. Norbert Hill introduced Mr. Jim Abley from IBM and asked his opinion of the proposal. Also Mr. Jack Crocker, Stout University. It was Mr. Abley and Mr. Crocker's recommendation to work up a counter proposal and not accept this particular proposal. Wendell McLester, Carlton Smith, Norbert Hill and Mr. Crocker will work together on a counter proposal. Amelia Cornelius read the resolution (73-10-8) for the Affirmative .ction Program. Wendell McLester moved for adoption of the Gordon McLester seconded. Motion carried. Gordon McLester moved to approve the residential lease applications of Gary Wieseler, Lorna Christjohn, Dorothy & Henry Martin, Evangeline Wisialowski, and William and Barbara Doyen. Wendell McLester seconded. Carried. · Residential lease application of Donald McLester. Mr. McLester is not agreeable to fair rental requirement. Irene Moore made a motion to inform Mr. McLester of the past practices of the Tribe concerning this requirement and if Mr. McLester is agreeable his application will be approved. Eva Danforth seconded. Motion carried. Gordon McLester made a motion to accept Julie Barton's resignation from the Land Committee. Irene Moore seconded. Carried. Mr. Cannon informed the Business Committee that Mrs. Pearl Sorenson wants to apply for some land by Margaret Summers'. The Committee pec- the Secretary write a letter to Mrs. Sorenson this property is being set aside for development and not for home sites. The Chrmn. read a letter from Bob Thomas concerning the Housing Authority's Advisory Board. Irene Moore made a motion to delegate Gordon McLester to attend the Housing Authority meeting to inquire about ;his. Alma Webster seconded. Carried. Discussion of C.C.C. Building. It was suggested the building be boarded up. It was also decided· to' charge Rudy Cornelius$ 2 5 a month rent.

Chrmn. Powless called the meeting to order 8:00 p.m. Prayer by Irene Moore.

Discussion on Native American Packaging Co. Proposal. Norbert Hill introduced Mr. Jim Abley from IBM and asked his opinion of the proposal. Also Mr. Jack Crocker, Stout University. It was Mr. Abley and Mr. Crocker's recommendation to work up a counter proposal and not accept this particular proposal. Wendell McLester, Carlton Smith, Norbert Hill and Mr. Crocker will work together on a counter proposal.

Norbert Hill read Shirley Powless' letter of resignation. Norbert Hill moved to accept her resignation. Irene Moore seconded. Motion carried, 5 for, 1 opposed. Irene Moore made a motion to advertise the secretary position. Alma Webster seconded. Motion carried.

:'he Chairman read a letter from Mr. Herb Powless concerning the Americans for Indian Opportunities Conference . held in Racine, June . 23, 1973. The ':'ribal Manager will send Mr. Powless a copy of the Affirmative Action l"'esolution and inform Mr. Powless of the a_ction taken.

:rene Moore moved to reinvest the Emigrant Claim. Eva Danforth seconded. Xo~ion carried, 6 for, 1 opposed.

~va Danforth moved the Tribe pay the Chairman's expenses to attend the ~.C.A.I. Convention 1n Oklahoma, October 28 to November 2. Irene Moore seconded. Carried.

;orbert Hill read a letter from Mr. Hinkfuss concerning the 501 _(C) 3. ~va Janforth made a motion that Purcell Powless, Irene Moore and Margaret :oxtater be designated Cdrporation officers for 3 years; Alma Webster, ~va Danforth, and Norbert Hill for 2 years; and Loretta Ellis, Gordon :~c~ester and Wendell McLester be designated for 1 year. Norbert Hill seconded. Motion carried.

Alffia Webster made a motion to adjourn. Gordon McLe~ter seconded. Meeting adjourned.
