MATTHEW BROUSSARDSEPTEMBER 5 AT 8PM
HANSEN STUDENT CENTER
Born in New Jersey and raised in Atlanta, Matthew Broussard’s debut on the comedic stage took place on June 20, 2011. Exactly a year to the day later he won Houston’s Funniest Person contest in 2012. For Matthew, the whole intellectual challenge of writing a joke is about as satisfying as a very elegant math proof. According to Matthew, writing and perfecting a joke is more satisfying than anything he’s done academically or professionally.
Matthew’s brand of playful, smart humor appeals to a broad audience and relies on his killer timing, subtle wit, and devilish good looks. He can be seen on Comedy Central’s new series, Adam DeVine’s House Party, and ap-pears in the movie Intramural which appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released in April 2014. Mat-thew is also the author of Mondaypunday.com which features his drawings depicting common phrases, famous
people, movie and television characters, band names, song lyrics, etc.

Award winning mentalist and entertainer Christopher Carter returns to Illinois Wesleyan. Year in and year out he ranks among the highest rated college campus entertainers. His show is both astonishing and funny. Christopher’s work is a blend of his lifelong interests in psychology, hypnosis, and illusion. THE WELL REDS
HANSEN STUDENT CENTERCOME JAM WITH US AT 8PM
The Well Reds previously performed for IWU Students in January 2012. They will be returning to IWU, hopefully on the wake of the release of their next album. If you didn’t make it to the first show, don’t miss them the second time around. Hailing from Atlanta, GA, The Well Reds describe their next album as a collection of songs that catalogue the highs and lows they’ve experienced personally and professionally as a touring indie band. Their songs from past al-bums could be described as thoughtful, consciously aware pop mu-sic. They engage the audience with tight vocal harmonies, diverse instrumentation, and a melodic sensibility that allows a new listener
to feel familiar from the start.

UNDERCOVER
25NOVEMBER 14AT 8PM IN HANSEN
This Fall marks the thirteenth year and 25th Un-dercover program. This event echoes a traditional battle of the band event but has cultivated a grand draw from students and continues to adopt new practices, approaches and technology. This Under-cover program is a live music competition where stu-dents compete on one of three stages for a cash prize and the golden guitar. Students have the op-portunity to perform two cover songs with music ranging from acoustic ballads to Disney to today’s hits to rock classics. The event also has a panel of guest judges and student votes are also a factor in determining the winner.
