During this 2014-2015 school year, the faculty and students of Incarnate Word Academy are working together towards creating awareness and an atmosphere of living the Beatitudes. These eight statements are the words of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of Matthew which challenges us how to live joyfully. Each month, a grade is responsible for displaying how they will consciously live out a particular attitude of being. These values continue to inspire and provide us with the Christ–like way of being blessings for others.

The Beatitudes begin with the words, “Blessed are…” and that is what Incarnate Word Academy students can claim as being, because of the goodness and generosity of our alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, each Board member, and friend as well as the Sisters of the Incarnate Word who have made a gift in support of our mission “to live Gospel values and inspiring academic excellence.” We are indeed blessed by the relationships of so many who care for Incarnate Word Academy by the sharing of their time, talent and resources.

Jeanne Chézard de Matel, foundress of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word, wrote this in her Treatise on the Beatitudes…”Look back over the various events of your life: how frequent have not been the proofs of an ever watchful and loving Providence?” As we approach the 80th Anniversary of Incarnate Word Academy next September, we indeed have many proofs of God’s loving care for us over the years and through the thousands of students who have graduated into high schools, and remember where they received their basic foundation of academic skills.

I am most grateful to you - our alumni, our parents, our grandparents, our faculty and staff, our Board of Directors and our friends of Incarnate Word Academy. Your donations and gifts this past fiscal year, no matter how large or small, provide opportunities for our students to become the best they can be by learning, loving and serving the Incarnate Word way. We thank you and pray that God’s abundant blessings of His faithfulness and loving presence be with you as we celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons.
