    1. A hexagonal prism of side 30mm & height 60mm is resting on HP with a base and an edge of the base isparallel to VP. Draw the sectional plan, elevation & true shape of the section for the following cases.

Case i) It is cut by a section plane parallel to HP and perpendicular to VP, which meets the axis at 15mm

    from the top end

Case ii) It is cut by a section plane inclined 300 to HP and perpendicular to VP also it bisects the axis.

    2. HW (Same as problem 1 case(ii) for cylinder of dia 50 mm and height 60 mm.)

    3. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30mm & axis 60mm is resting on HP with its base & and an edge ofthe base parallel to VP and away from it. Draw the sectional plan, elevation & true shape of the section

    for the following cases

Case i) It is cut by a section plane parallel to HP and perpendicular to VP also it bisects the axis of the

    pyramid.

Case ii) It is cut by a section plane inclined 300 to HP and perpendicular to VP which meets the axis at 30

    from the base.

    4. A Hexagonal pyramid of base side 30mm & axis 60mm is resting on HP with its base & and an edge of

the base parallel to VP . It is cut by a a section plane inclined at 300 tp HP and meets the axis at 10 mmfrom the base. Draw the Sectional plan, elevation & true shape of the section

    5. A cube of side 50mm is resting on HP with its base such that two faces are equally inclined to VP. It iscut by a section plane parallel to VP & perpendicular to HP at a point 15mm from the axis. Draw the plan

    & sectional elevation.

    6. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30mm altitude 60mm rests on its base on HP with an edge of baseparallel to VP. It is cut by a vertical plane inclined at 450 to VP and at a distance of 10mm from the axis.

Draw the top view, sectional front view & obtain true shape of the section.

    7. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30mm altitude 50mm rests on its base on HP with an edge of baseperpendicular to VP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to both HP & VP, which cuts the object at 15mm

from the axis in top view. Draw the front, top & end view of the pyramid.

    8. A cube of side 40mm is placed and cut by a plane in such a way that the true shape of section is a regularhexagon. Draw the front & top view of the cube & determine the angle of the cutting plane with HP.

    9. A square prism of height 80mm and base of diagonal 40mm rests on the HP on its base with base edgesequally inclined to the VP. It is cut by a section plane passing through the mid-point of the axis of the

prism perpendicular to the VP and inclined to the HP. Find the inclination of the cutting plane if the true

shape of the section is a rhombus of diagonals 60 mm and 40mm

Note : Cylinder Ellipse with Major & Minor axis.

    10. A cone of base diameter 50mm & axis 70mm is lying on the ground vertically. Draw the sectional Plan,Elevation, Side view (if necessary) & Obtain the true shape for the following cases.

    i) Cutting Plane perpendicular to VP & Parallel to one of its extreme generators & 12mm away from it.

(True shape is Parabola- Page 12.36- MS KUMAR )

ii) Cutting Plane perpendicular to both HP &

VP and is 8 mm to the left of the axis.

(True shape is Hyperbola- Page 12.37 - MS KUMAR )

iii) Cutting Plane perpendicular to VP and inclined 750

to the HP and passes through the apex.

    ( True shape is Triangle - Page 12.39 - MS KUMAR )

    Summary :

SP Parallel to HP & to HP : 1- 4

SP Parallel to VP & to VP : 5,6

SP Perpendicular to HP , VP : 7

    True Shape Problems : 8,9,10.
