We’d like to help a charity or cause by encouraging the public to actAn appealAn appeal is defined as a large-scale, company-wide initiative that has a call to action for money or support from our viewers. Generally, it has standalone programme content that’s supported by our other programmes across the schedule.

A campaignA campaign is generally isolated to one programme, location or channel and has a call to action for support or participation, but not often money. It’s usually embedded within our existing programming and doesn’t have a standalone show.

An ITV campaign:• Must be managed by the particular channel brand, programme or region, but their

purpose and objectives must be approved by our CR Board;

• Must include an interactive element, typically to support or participate in a social actioninitiative such as a collection of items, donation of time, or an awareness pledge;

3. What’s the approval process for an appeal or campaign?The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Board must approve all appeals and campaigns before you make an informal agreement with any partners or beneficiaries. The CR Board meets quarterly but if you need approval between meetings, an exceptional process is in place.

Step 3: If approved, the CR team will give the project the go-ahead and provide any feedback from the CR Board, advising o next steps in terms of getting the appeal or campaign going.

Our CR Board reserves the right to decline any appeal or campaign activity if it’s deemed a conflict of interest with an existing commitment or poses a risk to our operational activity or brand reputation.
