Before she's handed the keys to the sprawling, eight-acre compound, the pop princess faces a legal battle with two nuns, who are former residents of the property, from the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Because the Los Feliz, Calif., spread has been vacant since 2011 and is described by a Los Angeles Archdiocese spokesperson as "deteriorating," the five surviving nuns agreed to sell the property. But there is conflict as to who owns the estate and who has the right to sell it: the local archbishop or a group of the nuns who are anti-Perry. According to the archdiocese, Perry bought the property from Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez for $14.5 million, which included plans for a new site for the House of Prayer to be owned by the sisters valued at $4.5 million. Perry paid $10 million in cash. The 30-year-old is so in love with the Spanish villa-style estate, she visited the nuns earlier this year in an attempt to win them over -- which worked on at least some of the women. "The sisters met with [Perry] before they accepted her proposal," an archdiocese spokesperson told Page Six. "They were impressed by her and her plan to use the property to care for her mother and grandmother." But two of the sisters were not so impressed and see the "I Kissed A Girl" singer as an inappropriatefit for the former house of worship. So the two dissenting sisters have brokered a deal to sell theproperty to restaurateur Dana Hollister, according to an LA Times report.

"News sources reported that [Hollister's] offer was for $15.5 million," said a spokesperson for thearchdiocese. "However, the deed reflects a value of $10 million, of which only $100,000 was paid."

Hollister -- who owns several eateries in LA -- reportedly plans to convert the convent into a boutiquehotel, but doing so would require a rezoning of the buildings, which date from 1927.

Sister Catherine Rose, 86, and Sister Rita Callanan, 77, are the two holdouts who claim to haveauthority over the archdiocese in the sale and voiced their concerns about Perry's character.

"I was particularly concerned about the video 'The Dark Horse,'" Callanan told NBC's "Today" showon Monday.

Requests for comment from Perry and Hollister were notimmediately returned.
