Mitsubishis new OBU accepts the contactless IC card (ISO14443) for payment as electronic purse. The

common IC card platform allows the authority to introduce multi-modal fare policy to realize effective traffic

demand management, and provides citizen with better quality of service in urban life.

Payment by Common Contactless IC card1

Data rate is high enough to complete all transactions in short time, even including transactions between

OBU and IC card. This realizes Multi-lane Free-flow operation with one gantry structure, which is

essential for the road pricing system in urban landscape.

ConceptMitsubishi newly launched Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) System by harnessing knowledge and

experience in Japan ETC and Singapore ERP, for those countries Mitsubishi has already delivered a

large number of system and On-board Unit (OBU) with great success.

Mitsubishis new ETC adopts Active 5.8GHz Microwave Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC)

in compliant with proven and open standards of ITU, ISO and ARIB. It is characterized by high speed and

reliable transaction and multi-access not for only ETC but ITS applications. Mitsubishis new ETC realizes

a variety of ETC operations and ITS applications.
