The Baby Lock legacy started nearly 50 years ago. In 1964, a group of engineers and middle managers at a Japanese industrial sewing company presented a concept for a redesigned industrial serger. They wanted to create a smaller, lighter model for home sewer use. This was the birth of a small machine that could produce an overlock stitch—a “baby lock”.
