PRESCHOOL CAMPSDevelopmentally appropriate camps for 3 and 4 year olds who are fully potty trained.Children experience creative play in our state-of-the art preschool room, games, art, music, stories, snacks, splash time in the pool and outdoor exploration and play. These camps of-fer a safe and positive half-day enrichment program for children under the care of trained, nurturing adults who have experience in preschool education.

Preschool camps meet Monday-Friday from 9:00-11:30 am. Extended child care is available in the Childwatch room from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for an additional fee.

YOUTH/TEEN CAMPSL.I.T CAMPThe YMCA Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) Camp is the perfect way to learn valuable leadership skills and character values, and enhanced self- esteem while gaining experiences working with their peers and younger children. L.I.T.s will attend one week of leadership training camp with the Leadership and Development Staff. The second week will be spend at our Resident Camp Patterson. All potential L.I.T.s (including returning L.I.T candidates) must fill out an application and attend an orientation with camp LDS. The character values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibly, and faith will be woven into all camp activities. Monday - Thursday.

KINDERGARTEN PREP

Enrollment is for children who are entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2014. Morning curriculum focuses on kindergarten readiness skills, with special concentration on reading and math activities. Afternoon activities focus on social skills and recreational play and utilize area parks, playgrounds, and the YMCA pool and gyms. Children are required to bring a sack lunch each day. Snacks are provided.

Classes are taught by YMCA certified Preschool Teachers.

Kindergarten Prep meets Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm, with extended care available from 7:30-8:00 am and 2:30-5:30 pm for an additional fee.

KINDERCAMPSDesigned for older 4-7 year olds who have not completed first grade. Each day we begin at the YMCA for art, creative play, theme related activities, and group time. Then we load the bus and venture outdoors to a different park each day for games, snack, songs, hiking, nature exploration and playtime with friends. We end our days with swimming and/or water play.

Kindercamps meet Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Extended child care is available in the Childwatch room from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. for an additional fee.

Session 1 June 9-13 Summer CelebrationsLemonade, ice cream, outdoor games, sand castles, beach balls…..enjoy our first week of camp celebrating with lots of traditional good ol’ summer fun.

Session 2 June 16-20 Caring KidsFind out how awesome it is to care for friends in our community through small service projects. Then it is time for adventures with our regular camp outdoor activities.

Session 3 June 23-27 Stars and StripesMake your own T-shirt, flag, and wind sock. Come and celebrate the USA with fun and educational patriotic activities that are sure to get you into the 4th of July spirit.

Session 4 July 7-11 Treasure HuntGrab your shovel, magnifying glass, map, and other devices to help you figure out the clues that lead to your treasure each day. Treasures will be stored in a treasure box that you decorate and take home on the last day of camp.

Session 5 July 14-18 Splish SplashExploring ocean animals, making an ocean masterpiece, and having fun with water activities will be the focus of our camp this week.

Session 6 July 21-25 Experiment, Explore, and Explode!Calling all mad scientists! Come have fun while doing experiments that include lots of exploring and exploding!

Session 7 July 28-August 1 Around the World AdventuresGrab your passports and climb on board as we travel to a different country each day. We will be learning about life and friends in five different cultures.

Session 8 August 4-8 Wacky SportsLet the action and games begin! Have fun participating in all kinds of sports……. with a crazy twist. Go team!

Session 9 August 11-15 All About ArtCome get inspired to create art that is unique to you. You will have the freedom to explore different types of art media to create some of your own unique masterpieces.

Designed for campers who have completed any grade 4-8.A week-long program that provides time for extensive training with instructions. Youth will skate in groups based on their own skills, each day focusing in different parents of the park. Hands-on learning will help youth get acclimated new ramps, tricks, and other riders in a safe environment. Be prepared to learn ollies, flip tricks, grinds, half-pipe riding, and more. Youth supply a skateboard, helmet, and pads.

SKATEBOARDING CAMP

VIDEO SKATE CAMPDesigned for mid- to advanced-level riders who have completed grade 4-8.This skateboarding camp experience will sharpen you skateboarding skill under the supervision of trained instructors. You will also learn how to film the action like a pro to create great skateboarding videos. Youth supply a skateboard, helmet, pads, and camera. Instructors will have extra camera available if needed.

DAY CAMPS

Designed for students in grades K-4.Day Camp is a fun-filled recreational and educational program especially designed for the school-age camper. Natural surroundings of our area’s beautiful parks are used for the Y Day Camp sites. Activities include hiking, crafts, developing camping skills, nature exploration, songs, games, weekly field trips and swimming!

Camp meets Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Session 1 June 9-13 Healthy MeField Trip: SkatevilleIt’s all about eating healthy and being active. Join us as we create a recipe book filled with delicious snacks to make and great games to play.

Session 2 June 16-20 Jungle FeverField Trip: Como ZooLions, Tigers and Bears…oh my! Grab your safari hats we’re headed to the jungle for an adventurous hunt.

Session 3 June 23-27 Under the SeaField Trip: Fairmont Aquatic ParkDown where it’s better, down where it’s wetter…under the sea!

Session 4 July 7-11 Mad ScientistField Trip: Science MuseumCreative experiments will WOW the camper’s mind. Join us as we spend a week making experiments and expanding our minds.

Session 5 July 14-18 Amazing Race Field Trip: House of BounceOn the road again…I just can’t wait to get on the road again. Join us as we travel around the U.S. in search of the largest attractions on display.

Session 6 July 21-25 Arts & AdventureField Trip: Theater ProductionCome spend this week working on your acting skills, making arts and crafts, and ending with a talent show!

FISHING CAMPLearn about fishing techniques as we pursue Bass, Northern Pike, Pan Fish, and Walleyes in Various lakes surrounding the Mankato area. Life jackets and bait are provided at camp. Bring your own fishing pole and tackle if available.

TRAIL RIDERS HORSE RANCH CAMPCampers will be given advanced horse riding lesions to enhance their riding skills. By the week’s end, campers will enjoy a scenic trail ride. Design for campers who have advanced knowledge and skills of horseback riding. Trail Riders Horse Ranch Camp will be taught by KT Harrington at Meadowbrook Stables.

BEFORE & AFTER CAMP CAREFor your convenience and peace of mind, our Before and After Care provides the school-age camper with supervised activities prior to and following the end of each camp day.

Before Care hours: 7:15 - 8:30 a.m.After Care Hours: 4:00- 5:30 p.m.

HALF-DAY CAMPOur Half-Day Camp program is a great opportunity for those youth who already have their mornings filled with other activities. They will join the Day Camp group at lunch and participate in the fun adventures that camp has to offer without participating the entire day. Half Day campers do NOT participate in the weekly field trips. Available for the weeks of July 7 - August 1

Session 4 July 21-25 TEENXTREME CampThis unique combination of extreme activities includes; low and high ropes challenge course, Geo-caching, kayaking, archery and paintballing. Our goal is that the individual camper will be more resilient and responsible, build self-confidence and create

friendships with a positive peer group. Designed for 12-13 year olds.

COOKING CREATIONS CAMPReady, Set, Cook! Campers will learn cooking skills, healthy cooking, and proper etiquette. Campers will have the opportunity to visit local restaurants. Camp meets Monday- Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

KINDERCAMPSDesigned for older 4-7 year olds who have not completed first grade. Each day we begin at the YMCA for art, creative play, theme related activities, and group time. Then we load the bus and venture outdoors to a different park each day for games, snack, songs, hiking, nature exploration and playtime with friends. We end our days with swimming and/or water play.

Kindercamps meet Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Extended child care is available in the Childwatch room from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. for an additional fee.

Session 1 June 9-13 Summer CelebrationsLemonade, ice cream, outdoor games, sand castles, beach balls…..enjoy our first week of camp celebrating with lots of traditional good ol’ summer fun.

Session 2 June 16-20 Caring KidsFind out how awesome it is to care for friends in our community through small service projects. Then it is time for adventures with our regular camp outdoor activities.

Session 3 June 23-27 Stars and StripesMake your own T-shirt, flag, and wind sock. Come and celebrate the USA with fun and educational patriotic activities that are sure to get you into the 4th of July spirit.

Session 4 July 7-11 Treasure HuntGrab your shovel, magnifying glass, map, and other devices to help you figure out the clues that lead to your treasure each day. Treasures will be stored in a treasure box that you decorate and take home on the last day of camp.

Session 5 July 14-18 Splish SplashExploring ocean animals, making an ocean masterpiece, and having fun with water activities will be the focus of our camp this week.

Session 6 July 21-25 Experiment, Explore, and Explode!Calling all mad scientists! Come have fun while doing experiments that include lots of exploring and exploding!

Session 7 July 28-August 1 Around the World AdventuresGrab your passports and climb on board as we travel to a different country each day. We will be learning about life and friends in five different cultures.

Session 8 August 4-8 Wacky SportsLet the action and games begin! Have fun participating in all kinds of sports……. with a crazy twist. Go team!

Session 9 August 11-15 All About ArtCome get inspired to create art that is unique to you. You will have the freedom to explore different types of art media to create some of your own unique masterpieces.

Designed for campers who have completed any grade 4-8.A week-long program that provides time for extensive training with instructions. Youth will skate in groups based on their own skills, each day focusing in different parents of the park. Hands-on learning will help youth get acclimated new ramps, tricks, and other riders in a safe environment. Be prepared to learn ollies, flip tricks, grinds, half-pipe riding, and more. Youth supply a skateboard, helmet, and pads.

SKATEBOARDING CAMP

VIDEO SKATE CAMPDesigned for mid- to advanced-level riders who have completed grade 4-8.This skateboarding camp experience will sharpen you skateboarding skill under the supervision of trained instructors. You will also learn how to film the action like a pro to create great skateboarding videos. Youth supply a skateboard, helmet, pads, and camera. Instructors will have extra camera available if needed.

YOUTH/TEEN CAMPSL.I.T CAMPThe YMCA Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) Camp is the perfect way to learn valuable leadership skills and character values, and enhanced self- esteem while gaining experiences working with their peers and younger children. L.I.T.s will attend one week of leadership training camp with the Leadership and Development Staff. The second week will be spend at our Resident Camp Patterson. All potential L.I.T.s (including returning L.I.T candidates) must fill out an application and attend an orientation with camp LDS. The character values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibly, and faith will be woven into all camp activities. Monday - Thursday.

KINDERGARTEN PREP

Enrollment is for children who are entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2014. Morning curriculum focuses on kindergarten readiness skills, with special concentration on reading and math activities. Afternoon activities focus on social skills and recreational play and utilize area parks, playgrounds, and the YMCA pool and gyms. Children are required to bring a sack lunch each day. Snacks are provided.

Classes are taught by YMCA certified Preschool Teachers.

Kindergarten Prep meets Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm, with extended care available from 7:30-8:00 am and 2:30-5:30 pm for an additional fee.

Outdoor fun and learning happen through a variety of activities such as canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking, crafts, archery, theater, music, games, developing Christian values, and campfire programs. Campers enjoy healthy meals, sound sleep, and physical activity every day. Qualified instructors help the campers learn and grow through activities on the lake, in the fish, or in the woods. The camp program brings a sense of community to develop self-confidence and make new friends. Campers depart from the YMCA on Monday at 8:00 a.m. and are returned there on Friday at 4:00 p.m.

The YMCA fundraiser is a great way for you to earn your way to camp. It’s available to campers at any age level and helps offset your camp fees. All campers applying for financial aid must participate in the camp fundraiser to be eligible for assistance.

To participate in the fundraiser a parent or adult must attend the mandatory fundraising meeting on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 3 p.m.

Please register for a Summer Camp session and the fundraiser at the same time to be guaranteed eligibility.
