IT’S ALL ABOUT COMMUNITYIt’s summertime! Ella Fitzgerald sings that the “livin’ is easy” and The Fresh Prince raps that “it’s time to sit back and unwind.” At Impact, that’s not all we’re doing during these hot months. We have a lot going on in our community, from camps, to feeding neighbors in need, to celebrating God’s amazing love. Check out the details below and we’ll look for you, your family, and friends either at Impact on Sylvan or on Main.
SUMMER CAMP IS UPON US
While our country and communities grapple with how officers police our neigh-borhoods, the East Point Police Department continues its good work to promote safety and positive connections between youth and officers via a six-week summer camp. This year Impact on Sylvan donated space for this camp (an in-kind gift worth over $9,000). Your support of Impact makes this kind of gener-osity possible to our community, one that has a lasting impact, especially in these tense and complex times. Thank you. Each week, through our partnership with Smart Kid/Smart Lunch, Impact packs dozens of lunches for children who receive free/reduced lunches throughout the school year. When school takes a break, we are making sure their meals continue. We still need your help with food or monetary dona-tions to reach our goal of 400 lunches per week. Summer Lunch Program Feeding 100s of Hungry Children
It’s a hit! We have witnessed the incredi-ble impact transporting college students to our weekly worship experi-ences has had on their lives. No longer are we renting vans to do this. We have purchased one van and invite you this month to help us purchase two more – not only to bring college students to connect with this faith community, but to transport our East Point neighbors as well. HOW TO VOLUNTEER with IMPACT
1. Sign up for a team online or in-person at Guest Services
2. After you signed up for a team, you will be contacted via email to attend a Volunteer Orientation session. Volunteer Orientation is offered 1st & 3rd Sundays after the 8AM or 10AM Worship Experience.
3. After you complete a Volunteer Orientation session, you will be contacted by the leader of that team(s).
