Oct. 17: Our Jubilee Year of Mercy begins as we board our flight from our local airport for an overnight flight to Rome, Italy. Oct. 18: Upon arrival in Rome we begin with a sight-seeing tour of the Eternal City, viewing land marks such as the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, and the Roman Forum, giving us a general overview of the city that will be our home for the next few days. Following hotel check in, liesure time before dinner. Overnight Rome Oct. 19: is morning after an early breakfast, we participate in a Papal audience (pending the Pope’s schedule) at St. Peter’s Basilica, location of one of the Holy Doors, which we’ll have the oportunity to pass through to gain a plenary indulgence. Following a lunch break, we will visit the Vatican Museum including the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. We’ll finish the day with a visit the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon as well as the Piazza Navona, with its famous Fountain of the Four Rivers. Dinner. Overnight Rome Oct. 20: Following breakfast, we will visit and pass through the three remaining Holy Doors of Rome, located at St. John Lateran, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and St. Mary Major, which is dedi- cated to the Blessed Virgin Mary where a reliquary containing part of the Holy Crib of Bethlehem rests. It was carried to Rome by Christian refugees during the Muslim conquest of the Holy Land in the 7th century. Remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner. Overnight Rome Oct. 21: After breakfsat and morning Mass, we will depart for a visit to the Catacombs of St. Callista, where will see how the early Christians lived. Following a break for lunch, we’ll enjoy Rome at leisure. Dinner. Overnight Rome Oct. 22: Following breakfast, we make our way to visit Assisi, home and foundation of the Fran- ciscans. Upon arrival in Assisi, we’ll visit the church of St. Mary of the Angels as well as the cave that St. Francis often retired to for prayer. Following a lunch break, we enjoy mass at the Basilica of St. Francis, and a guided tour of the Basilica before making our way up the hill to the Church of St. Clare. ere, we’ll have an opportunity to venerate her tomb, where her body lies barely corrupt after many centuries. Remaining of the afternoon will be spent at leisure, observing the peace and tranquility that make Assisi so timeless. Dinner. Overnight Assisi Oct. 23: After breakfast at our hotel, we’ll enjoy Assisi at our leisure before departing for our flight to Croatia. Upon arrival we will transfer to our for check-in. Dinner. Overnight Dubrovnik Oct. 24: Following breakfast, we’ll enjoy a walking tour of “Old Dubrovnik” ; starting with the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower clock, Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace. We will also visit the Dominican Monastery as well as the Franciscan Monastery with it’s Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. Following a break for lunch, we leave Dubrovnik, known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, on our short journey to the beautiful village of Medjugorje. While in Madjugorje, some of the activities will include, we’ll assemble each morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church for the English language Mass, we’ll follow the path up Apparition Hill where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady, we’ll pray before the cross that commemorates the spot where Mary first appeared to the visionaries, as well as “e Blue Cross,” which is a place of great healings and graces, at the base of Apparition Hill. Each evening at 6:00 p.m. we will join the villagers and pilgrims to pray the rosary. e apparition takes place usually arround 6:40 pm and are followed by the Croatian Mass and the Blessing of the Sick as well as the blessing of Religious articles. We will have the opportunity to climb Krizevac Mountain where, in 1933, the villagers built a 30’ high cross on the anniversary of Jesus’ crucifixion. Dinner. Overnight Medjugorje Oct. 25: Following breakfast, we will spend the day in Medjugorje experiencing the same sched- ule as the day before. Dinner. Overnight Medjugorje Oct. 26: After breakfast, we will again have the opportuinty to experience the same schedule as the day before. Farewell dinner. Overnight Medjugorje Oct. 27: Following breakfast, we depart, with a renewed sense of pilgrimage and great memories, for our return flight home.
