Zara: Combined Course “I loved how the lessons were all in Italian, as it really immersed us into the language. By the end of the course I had made some really amazing friends whilst in Florence. The apartment I stayed in was really well located and relatively inexpensive considering its distance to the centre. The nightlife in Florence was also amazing.” Lucy: Languages for Life “The lessons moved faster than I expected, but I liked that, as I wanted to learn as much as possible. I didn't expect the school to provide so much beyond the actual lessons - the scope of trips, courses and social events were really impressive. I liked the combination of very technical grammar work and free conversation lessons: it enabled you to sort out the nuts and bolts and then put what you'd learnt into practice!”

I’d recommend it to everyone, the flexibility means it suits business people (like me), as well as those just looking to relax and learn a little Italian conversation. Of course, the city of Florence provides a fantastic back drop! A very fruitful and enjoyable experience.” Sarah: Over 50s Course “It was a wonderful experience and my Italian has definitely improved. And what better place to learn in than Florence. Learning about the Art of Florence at the time of Cosimo I and visiting the Uffizi & Accademia art gallery with such knowledgeable guides was, for me, a dream come true. Thank you CESA for such fantastic memories.” Brenda Evans: Over 50s Course A wonderful experience. The school was excellent, teachers and staff friendly and helpful. Visits well organised with expert tuition. I would go back! It was a great experience to be part of Florence for a fortnight. Thank you for a most enjoyable and educational holiday.

Julia: Languages for Life “Spending 4 months in Milan was incredible. The college staff were great. My teachers really challenged me. The other students were always happy to go out. Between the classes and my social life there was no time to get bored! I was so pleased when I passed my DILI exam, and could prove my new found Italian proficiency on my CV!” Stephanie: Languages for Life “Milan - amazing! I’ve always wanted to go there and my Gap Year was the perfect opportunity! It was my first trip abroad on my own and it was daunting to even think about it, just before I went. So mostly I tried not to. The college was brilliant, in a good location in Navigli, surrounded by bars and cafes. The staff and teachers were all friendly and welcoming. Daily life in Milan took a bit of adjustment, but seeing familiar, smiling faces around the college made life easier. By the end of the second week, I felt totally at home and was having a great time.”

Charlie: Languages for Life “I really needed to work on my Italian, as I wanted to read it at Uni and hadn’t studied at school. I really didn’t know what to expect, but found the staff friendly and the other students were a real laugh. I was so pleased, in just 12 weeks I covered so much ground, it really came together – my Italian is now almost as good as my French (which I’ve studied in the UK for years!).” Charlotte : Standard Course “I loved my four weeks in Rome. The people at the school are amazing! The teachers, the directors, the secretaries, the staff of the bar! Everybody is professional, friendly. They helped me to make my stay a truly unforgettable one. A great college, fabulous teachers and a truly brilliant hostess – just 20 minutes from the school. Planning on returning next year for more of the same!.”

Siena College: Popular quality language courses with programme options to suit all linguistic needs ~ great range of cultural workshops ~ ideal for all age groups, from 16yrs through to adults looking for intensive tuition ~ Academic Year & Languages for Life are popular with Gappers ~ wonderful central location ~ high quality courses and great service.

Rosie: Standard Course “I felt very safe whilst exploring the entertainment in the city and the locals were very friendly and always willing to stop and speak. Siena is fairly small so it wasn’t very daunting for a younger student. I really enjoyed going out for a couple of drinks with my friends, there are some delightful bars with really good atmosphere. My host family were very welcoming and accommodating. They served me some wonderful food and the apartment was very comfortable.” Adrian: Standard Course “I wanted intensive tuition programme in both grammar and conversation and to have two glorious weeks in Siena. The lessons were excellent; and our teacher managed to stick to the programme whilst also adjusting to our individual needs. We had excellent work books, which I will continue to use on my own. I can honestly say there are no complaints. CESA Languages staff were excellent and I would definitely recommend others to go on a CESA language course abroad!”

Isobel: Languages for Life “As it turned out, by the end of the course I felt I'd made huge progress – the level I reached was well beyond my initial expectations. The teachers were fantastic and I feel I formed some good relationships with them during my time there. The school was in a good position, easily accessible from the main square. The best part of the course was the teachers and the opportunity to socialise outside of the college.” Gabriella: Standard Course “My vocabulary improved dramatically, and I met lots of brilliant people and generally had a fabulous time. The lessons worked well for me, as the structure was similar to lessons in the UK. There were materials for us to look at and listening exercises and the teachers worked hard to vary the class structure. The teachers were all brilliant and very friendly; a few in particular were very funny whilst also being able to teach!.” Mr Hartley: Private Tuition “Sorrento is small and beautiful. The college staff are friendly and always helpful. I felt relaxed and could really concentrate on my Italian. Thanks for a great experience.”

With over 10 years of teaching experience, and between 60/100 students studying each month the college offers a fabulous language learning environment for ALL linguistic needs in a central city location. The city may often seem metaphorically drowned under a sea of tourists at the height of summer, and “Piazza San Marco” is often literally drowned during the flood tides, but with easy access to the artistic and historic heritage of this incredible city, you just have to fall in love with Venice. The school is located in the historic city centre, in a typical Venetian square, a meeting place for students and residents who shop or chat in the open-air cafés. It is housed in a historic building with a wide terrace onto the campo. There are 7 classrooms and students have free access to two internet points, a self-access study room with video facilities and wi-fi internet connection. Classes are held across 5 language levels, with a teaching methodology based on a fully communicative approach that promotes and encourages students’ active participation. The average student age is 20/50yrs, but everyone is welcome. It's a small school, with a friendly atmosphere and has year round appeal for all language students.

I had a great time talking Ferraris with them both! Keep up the good work. Everyone at CESA were very helpful and efficient, you dealt with my late booking well, no hiccups at all. Thank you!.” Anna: Languages for Life Course “The tutors were so helpful and made the lessons really fun. Although I found it frustrating to begin with, I thought the “Italian only” approach was excellent. It made me use the language and as a result I succeeded in learning so much more and really felt encouraged to speak and think in Italian throughout the course.”

With over 15 years of teaching experience, and between 30 /100 students studying each month the college in Viareggio offers a wonderful language learning environment for ALL linguistic levels, by the beach. Viareggio is one of the largest beach resorts in Tuscany, and is well known for its art deco style architecture. The name Viareggio comes from the word “Via Regia” which means the King's Road. Viareggio has wide, endless golden sandy beaches, excellent cuisine and exciting nightlife with its well-known “Versilian” discos, at their best during the lively summer months. Beach lovers will enjoy the long seafront beaches and green gardens with palms, oleanders and tamarisks. The more active can enjoy sailing and mountain biking, but many prefer the quieter pursuits of sun bathing and swimming! The climate is very warm in the summer, with temperatures reaching 30oc, and mild in the winter, dropping to 10oc, which gives the college a year round appeal, though inevitably, it is the summer months that draws the majority of students. Viareggio is within easy reach of Pisa (less than 15 km away), Florence, Siena and Lucca, so if you want to soak up some culture during your time in Italy, there is always plenty to do and see. CESA Plus Points:

Viareggio: With 20 km of beaches along the Versilia coast and many “bagni” (bathing establishments) Viareggio attracts plenty of tourists, mostly Italian. Must sees include ~ the sandy beaches ~ the busy promenade area (the place to be seen for the evening “passeggiata”) ~ visit the Carrara cave (where Michelangelo acquired the Marble for his statue of David) ~ Pinteta di Ponente (a large pinewood park) ~ Piazza Shelley (named after the Poet who drowned along this coast) ~ Museo Cittadella del Carnevale (the official exhibition of floats & masks of the famous Carnival) ~ college arranged trips to Florence or Lucca are always popular. The summer nightlife is lively with clubs & restaurants; pizzerias, beach bars, and trattorias to suit all.

Viareggio College: Small, friendly College with general (& specialist) Italian courses to suit all linguistic needs ~ fun social programme, includes local visits and excursions and spaghetti parties ~ ideal for all age groups, from 16yrs through to adults looking for quality tuition in a seaside resort ~ very busy in the summer, so early bookings recommended.

Ellie: Standard Course “Loved studying in this small but smart town. Truly charming; hot sun, barely there suits, and laid back holiday state of mind. Fascinated by the beaches which are run by beach clubs, you rent a chair/umbrella and you have a spot all day. Each club marks off their area of the beach for their customers – not cheap so most students head for the public beach (without the luxuries)!” Julia: Standard Course “Grammar and conversation lessons in the mornings worked well for me, leaving me (and others) free to beach in the afternoons! My Italian improved (mostly conversational skills.. on the beach, in the bars and in restaurants). Favourite memories, grabbing a 'gelato' heading back from the beach with college friends, then going out to walk the promenade searching for the perfect place to grab food each evening. Chatting with friends and people watching, munching on free olives and peanuts, before fish for dinner. Heaven!”
