Spread Hitch. The distance between the upper and lower hitch plates isimportant for machine performance and component life. The Cat spreadhitch design provides excellent loaddistribution and bearing life. Both theupper and lower hitch pins pivot on double tapered roller bearings –improving durability by distributingboth vertical and horizontal loads over alarger surface area. The wide openingalso provides excellent service access.
Structures. The articulated frame design of the IT62H features a durablebox-section engine frame and rigidfour-plate loader tower that isrobotically welded. Robotic weldingcreates frame joints with deep platepenetration welds and excellent fusionfor maximum strength and durability.
8-Bar Robust Linkage. This linkageprovides parallel lift to keep the load levelthroughout the lift cycle – particularlyimportant when using forks. Parallel liftallows the operator to concentrate onplacing the load, instead of retaining it.Visibility to the work tool is excellent.Larger tilt cylinders and a more robustlinkage design improve breakout force andoverall rackback capability. Rotary sensorsfor the lift circuit let the operator electro-nically set detent positions from the cab.

Electrohydraulic Implement Controls.Finger Tip Electro hydraulic implementcontrols on the IT62H provide theoperator with responsive, smooth andprecise control of bucket and lift arms. The implement control console alsofeatures a Forward/Neutral/Reverseswitch allowing easy and fast directionalchanges that helps reducing cycle
The standard programmable automatickick-outs provide flexibility andproductivity for precise load and dumptarget heights. Tilt, lift and return-to-digkickouts are set by positioning thebucket or work tool and setting a rockerswitch in the cab.
Constant Net Horsepower. On manycompetitive machines, gross horse-power is constant, meaning that netengine power available for actual workwill vary based on demands made fromparasitic sources, such as airconditioning or cooling fans. The Cat C7 engine is electronicallyconfigured to provide constant nethorsepower at full parasitic loadenhancing productivity and improvingfuel efficiency.
Planetary Power Shift Transmission.Increases number of cycles per hour. The electronic planetary power shifttransmission with automatic shiftcapability is designed, developed and built by Caterpillar. The controlledpower shift transmission allows fullpower, very responsive directionalchanges that have a direct impact onmachine cycle times and productivity. The operator can choose betweenmanual or autoshift modes.
Variable Shift Control. Match trans-mission shifting patterns to machineapplication requirements. Variable ShiftControl (VSC) improves shift qualityand fuel efficiency in certain applica-tions by allowing the transmission toupshift at lower engine RPM.
Ride Control. The optional Ride ControlSystem improves ride, performance andload retention when traveling over roughterrain. Operators gain confidencemoving at higher speeds in load and carry operations decreasing cycle timesand increasing productivity.
Counterweight. The one-piece counter-weight is integrated into the IT62Hdesign and styling. This 1991 kg counter-weight incorporates the rear lights intothe top of the structure.
Engine Idle Management System. The Engine Idle Management System(EIMS) maximizes fuel efficiency andprovides flexibility in managing idlespeeds for specific application require-ments. Four idle control speeds areavailable. Hibernate Mode. Idle speed drops after
