With no lead to follow but his own, KiD, born Samuel Malachai Coleman, is a hip-hop legend in the making. The young King in Demand is no stranger to the harsh realities of this cold cruel world. The death of both his parents sparked a rough childhood as he was shuffled in and out of foster homes. Racking up a record of 27 foster homes, 13 group homes, and 4 shelters, left him with a strong desire to succeed and fuels the intensity of his music. The Chicago native is no stranger to pain and it has created a drive in him that is unmatched. While his goal is to create a unique voice in the rap game, his desire to be heard and his rebellion against the norm, can be categorized as pure artistry and genius.

“IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO FIND THE KING INSIDE MYSELF, THIS MUSIC IS DESIGNED TO HELP PEOPLE FIND THE KING IN

THEMSELVES.”- KiD, The Hip Hop Rebel

A fan of music outside of the hip hop genre, KiD fell into rapping by accident and is known as a freestyle artist. With the realities of his troubled past, music quickly became more than an outlet, it became a way for him to climb his way to the throne. KiD creates a way with words that paints a picture and allows the listener to see the world through his eyes. His influence comes from his everyday life experiences both past and present and plays an integral part in his creativity and song writing.

An avid songwriter, KiD has worked with various artist & producers including Rob Jones, Eric Bellinger, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, MiDi Mafia, Lil Durk, Jazze Pha and DJ Scream. Along with a passion for song writing, he has become quite the artist himself, opening up for multiple recording artist including Lil’ Wayne, Young Jeezy, T.I, Jim Jones, Rick Ross and Drake.

“ARE YOU AWARE THAT I’M A PROBLEM,I GOT MY CROWN FROM THE BOTTOM,

I’M THE NEW BATMAN OF GOTHAM”- KiD, The Hip Hop Rebel

KiD distinguishes himself as an abstract caliber artist by being the “kid” who came from nothing to something, coining his “Look at Me Now” swag. He thrives off success and proving wrong everyone that ever doubted him. The release of his first long awaited mixtape “New Kings” in the summer of 2015, KiD proved that you can come from the bottom and still be crowned a KING. Shielded by the pain of his past, KiD has a bright and promising future ahead of him. In an industry that has forgotten about artistry, KiD is a welcoming change. He is light years ahead of his time. Armed with an impeccable flow and of his own Empire, “Young King Music Group,” the young artist has carving a place in Hip Hop all his own.

Regarded as one of the most highly anticipated projects of the New Year, KiD blessed the music world with his sophomore project “All Black Winter” 5 days into the New Year. “All Black Winter” picks up where New Kings left off but this time around, the young King gives an inside to his life, trials and tribulations as an artist. In the opening track, King in Demand, Kid’s intoxicating voice dances across a hypnotizing beat as the artist expresses that he is the “New Batman Gotham.” KiD takes on his competition in his opening track expressing that he is on another level. “All Black Winter” is a collection of songs that take on the industry itself in tracks like Donald Trump, Long Live & Trojan Horse. “A.B.W.” gained so much traction in its first few days of release that music blogs came clamoring to feature the collection on their respective sites, making it available for download. To say that “All Black Winter” is the young King’s best work to date would be a statement spoken too soon. With music recorded a year in an advance, KiD is just warming up in this display of artistry.

“I GOT A UNIQUE SET OF SKILLS,Y’ALL DON’T QUALIFY OR MEET THE GUIDELINES.”

In his first studio release after moving to Atlanta with nothing to his name but a bag of clothes, KiD paints a vivid picture to who he is as a person, a King, and a artist. New Kings is a collection of Kid’s well articulated flow over edgy beats. “I guess they want that, young nigga not having shit, standing on the corner looking round for his next sale.” In the Intro to New King, KiD takes us on a 5 minute rollercoaster ride through his troubled past. Painting the picture of the struggles he faced coming from multiple foster homes to his first steps into the rap game as he explained promoters banning him from their clubs.

New King is the first introduction to how he evolved as an artist, from freestyling over other rappers beats to creating a project that reminds us that anybody can be a King if he wants it bad enough.

“CONVERSATING WITH GOD, YET I’M STILL WRESTLING DEMONS, AND THEY SAY PAIN MAKE YOU SMARTER, BOY I MUST BE A

GENIUS, I GAVE THE STREETS MY ALL AND WALKED AWAY WITH NOTHING.”
