But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace,

patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

We are born with a tendency to the wrong thing

The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are

constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good

intentions.

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells

in you?

The Holy Spirit (God) in your life gives you the ability to overcome your

struggles

accepted by God

You can only be made acceptable to God through the cross of Christ

God’s wrath must fall on sin.

No amount of goodness will change that!

We try to be good because we have been accepted by God.
