continue to work in ISU and do I want to go back home? Since I am a lawyer and I have a firm at home so I have to go home. The expenses that I
have in Norway stops me from staying Norway and that’s the main reason why I went home.

May 1st
VP then open discussion:
May presentation of Communication of ISU Norway National Board and Local Branchs
May talks about communication and what means communication, by importance of including:
1- Share (message, and feedback between a sender and a receiver)
2- Information received from others
May explains is important people share messages constantly, so communication is developed
LM1 survey, had the objective to improve communication with Local Branches, at meetings, and
between their own problems to communicate between respective board members
Feedback of LM1 survey where:

1) Ideas to improve:
- Delegates could have been more punctual
- Better meals and small breaks
- More provision for vegetarian and non-beef
- Mork workshops to discuss
- More strict on attendance also the time in of the delegates
2) Things wanted to share about LM1 experience:
- Great hotel
- Glad delegates participated
- And listened to all of the discussions
3) Do you have other comments, questions or concerns?
- Thank you for the good event
- Not possible to accept as tourism opportunity, people should have been more aware of
importance of meeting and take seriously (not just fun), food was ok but a bit more variety should
have been great
- Water and soft drinks would have been great

May explain the importance of communication between LB’s and NB’s
- How effective is our communication?
- What kind of communication is better?
- What can we improve in the future?
Communication must be improve, share delegates with Local Branches board members what was
discussed, what we have talked to be improved and other information explained at LM2
We must be good at communication!!!
NB wants to give a chance to LB’s improve communication, and have a better and strong
communication between NB and LB
Explains after LM we got more requests on Facebook as friends, what shows LM is an effective way
to communicate must be very useful
Important to remember
- Concerning to late delegates
- Delegates coming late will present in front the reason, as NSO does
- They should also be voted in order for them to join the meeting
Discussion
1- Drammen: was lost and how to improve. R: delegates should let us know
2- Will affect agenda voting people arriving late? R: agenda Saturday is more flexible, NSO may
lose right of vote if not present at 2 callings, and pay all expenses, and the majority of NSO decides as
appeal

3- Gagan explain needs have better communication, especially with Daniel sends messages and
have no reply, we must improve
4- HiNT asks who contact Daniel with LBs. R: mainly presidents and if other branches board
members contact is reply. As is more effective how to communicate with LB’s.
5- OIBC member didn’t know exactly how to communicate. E.mail addresses problems, but a
good way to continuity. R (Gagan): process to re-design website and make better communication with
branches e.mail will be able to have better follow up of information send at e.mails
6- Daniel explains importance of communication NB is not personal, is whole NB
communicating
7- Hint suggest NB can write small comments time to time of things going on R: 2 LB board
members are present at isu leaders group, and also we are able to attend more information
Communication is a skill that you can learn.

Comment:
1. It is enough to have a full name.

3. The suggestion to have a small description in each Local Branches (2 to 3 lines).
Suggestions: Full names and website should be added.
Questions:
1. How big is the continuity handbook?
2. Should we print out the continuity handbook?

Feedback from the Local Branches is crucial.
For the Local Branches. A good transition process is required. Guidelines for the next board are needed.
NB, a best of luck and a very difficult job and keep on doing the good work that you are doing.
Friends all over the world. Fantastic people and excellent cooperation.
QUESTION:
Gagan – As a leader what has been your great moment as ISU Leader – The part of whether I am offering and working for ISU. Do I want to
continue to work in ISU and do I want to go back home? Since I am a lawyer and I have a firm at home so I have to go home. The expenses that I
have in Norway stops me from staying Norway and that’s the main reason why I went home.
The decisive moment for me as a leader is the day by day challenges in Norway and how to stay, live and work but I was confident when I left
because the new board has done a really excellent job.
