Committee Report 2013 to 2014

• Please see the published activity reports for this year and from previous years

• Main product of the Rules Committee is the regular publishing of annual editions of the ISTA Rules

• This year still 37 pages, 76 if you include the annex but less than normal?

• Still 25 proposals including two new species added to vigour testing and three new or amended Seed Health methods

Electronic Rules: good?

• Electronic is the way to go for many labs and ISTA

• But not easy in some countries?

• Paper copies are available on request

• Chapters 1 and 2 free to non-members

• Does it work for you?

• Now electronic voting on Rules proposals

• Hopefully that will work for you too!

• I took over as ISTA Rules Chair in 2000

• Over the last 14 meetings I have had lots of help from TCOM Chairs and the Secretariat staff, especially Jonathan Taylor

• The ISTA Rules are a team effort

Proposals are received by 1st November each year. Then: • Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretariat edit them

• Rules Committee votes on them

• ECOM approve them for circulation to the members

• Finally we discuss them here at the annual meeting

There are none, ISTA has standard methods not standards for quality, see EC regulations or country regulation for these ● I want an OIC test please There is no such thing but test results can be issued on an OIC. If sampling and testing is under the control of an ISTA accredited laboratory following the ISTA Rules.
