Event Highlights: IST Student/Alumni Blue-White Weekend Tailgate

Upcoming Events:

Commencement Weekend – College of IST Student/Family Reception

Alumni Relations Committee – Mark Poblete

Purpose: provide a professional/social network to alumni of the College while providing alumni opportunities to reconnect with and give back to IST.

Purpose: Connecting IST and SRA students to the IST Alumni Society, and supporting student activities where possible.

Event Highlights: Supported graduation events in May for Class of 2012 graduation (ice cream social Senior Send-

off, etc.)

Panel discussions for Prospective Students and Accepted Students.

Upcoming Events: Will work to get new committee chair tied into IST

Current Students Committee – Dan Hansel

Purpose: Work closely with IST students, faculty, and staff in order to supplement and expand on-and off-campus recruiting initiatives, whose goal is the increased interest of high school students, current students who are enrolled within DUS, and those students who have received an offer of acceptance into the College.

Event Highlights: Recruiting season just ending for the 2013 class, so stay tuned for future events later this year

Participated in DC-Area information session with Undergraduate Admissions

Upcoming:

Targeted prospective student calls occurring over the summer timeframe to high school Juniors showing an interest in IST

Prepare for Spend A Summer Day in the coming months

Looking at future discussions around DUS student recruitment, as an option to boost numbers

Marketing & Communications Committee – Kristi Farinelli

Purpose: Responsible for marketing all Society messages to the IST community, including prospective students, current students, and alumni through istalum.com, college’s website, Facebook, Twitter, iConnect etc.

Follow us on Twitter @istalum Promotion for #GiveToIST campaign and Homecoming events

Sharing activities and updates from the College (@ISTatPENNSTATE) and groups like IST THON (@ISTFTK)

Connecting alumni and sharing news/information

Website Redesign Integration with ist.psu.edu will unify the Society with the College.

Purpose: Collaborate with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, to develop a strategy, priorities and goals for fundraising programs for the current fiscal year and review of ongoing performance of each campaign.

Goal: Raise $50,000 collected in 5 years for an endowed scholarship.

• Progress: $60,156.00 Raised!! (doesn't mean you can't still donate)

THON Subcommittee - Colleen Cwenar

• Progress: Looking for people who want to get involved

• Action: If you were involved in IST's THON initiative in the past (pre-2011), please

• THON 2013: IST raised a record breaking $56,512.79!!!

The Alumni Relations Committee provides a professional support network to alumni of the College, while connecting alumni with the IST community. This includes: • Proactively seeking the involvement of all alumni within Alumni Society affairs • Organizing events to reunite alumni • Keeping alumni informed about IST news and events
