UAE Team Emirates for the Tour de France 2018

The Emirates team will be at the Grand Boucle, starting July 7 in Ven-dée, with a team led by Daniel Mar-tin for the overall classification. The Irish cyclist, already a stage winner in the Tour, placed sixth in the 2017 edition even while racing 12 stages with a broken vertebra. The Europe-an champion Alexander Kristoff will lead UAE Team Emirates’s sprint charge. The team will therefore be competitive on more than one front and will be supported by riders with major experience like Marco Mer-cato, Rory Sutherland and Roberto Ferrari, and a young rouleur Oliviero Troia and two climbers Darwin Ata-puma and Kristijan Durasek.Team Manager Matxin Joxean Fer-nandez will manage the team with help from directors Philippe Mauduit and Simone Pedrazzini. “Since I si-

It was a day to remember for the Ita-lian cycling team at the Mediterranean Games, taking place in Spain in these days. On the urban circuit of Vila-seca, the blues dominate the field. Among the men, a fantastic double shot by Jalel Duranti (with a time of 3h43’50), in front of his teammate Filippo Taglia-ni and the Portuguese Silva. Among the women to triumph is Elisa Longo Borghini, former Olympic bronze in Rio 2016, in 2h35’29. On the podium also Erica Magnaldi, bronze at 3’18 “, just following the Spanish Ane Sant-steban Gonzalez.

UAE Team Emirates launch Youth Academyat Dubai Sports World

As part of its ongoing commitment to inspire the next generation of cyclists, UAE Team Emirates has partnered with Dubai-based sports activity provider Just Play, to lau-nch the UAE Team Emirates Youth Academy. The three-week summer cycling programme – which targets boys and girls from 11-16 years-old and starts on Sunday, July 8 – coinci-des with the world’s most prestigious cycling race, the Tour de France.The coaching clinics will teach youn-gsters the basics of indoor cycling, using professional training bikes in a purpose built, air-conditioned studio.
