ISSUE 6 April 2018
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK Effectiveness of the Newsletter Historically the Newsletter was the major way in which schools communicated with their parent body. There are now so many other ways to communication. In addition to our fortnightly Newsletter, we have our Website, our official Facebook page, and each class uses Dojo or Seesaw to communicate directly with parents. We also have the classroom parent representatives. This is quite an extensive list. With so many lines of communication available, I am not sure how relevant our fortnightly Newsletter actually is today. We can communicate important information immediately via the electronic platforms available. Consequently, I am not sure how many people actually read this Newsletter. Attached to this Newsletter is a quick survey. At this stage, there is no intention of changing what we currently do. The purpose of this survey is simply to determine how valued our fortnightly Newsletter actually is by our community. Our survey can be completed and emailed to [email protected] Please return by 1
st June 2018
Alternatively, you can print the survey and drop it off to the administration. I would strongly encourage you to complete our survey. The results of the survey will guide my decision about the future of our fortnightly Newsletter. Arrangements for our Parent/Teacher Interviews Important arrangements for our Parent/Teacher interviews will be published on our Website and Facebook page on Monday. Faction Cross Country Carnival I would like to congratulate Mr McNerney and Mr Palmer for their efforts in running our annual Cross Country Carnival. Thank you also to all of the staff who assisted on the day. It was a great event. Parents who attended the event would have noticed that changes were made to give the carnival a more festive atmosphere with faction sun shelter erected and students cheering teams from designated faction bays. This initiative gave the carnival a great feeling.

LA21 Middle Assembly 4th May 2018
Today the students from LA 21 did some “Reporting” on Mythical creatures, which was their theme for Talk4Writing in Term 1. The students reported on all sorts of creatures and entertained their audience through their creativeness and humour. Congratulations Mrs Kernich and all of the class as your assembly was fantastic!

LA21 Middle Assembly 4th May 2018
This week’s senior assembly celebrated mothers in all forms. LA 28 performed some hilarious skits for us on the trials and tribulations of motherhood. They shared the history of Mothers’ Day including its origins in the late 19th century. A stellar performance Year Sixes and Mr Sullivan. Well done!
