We are now on the home stretch of the season which means every game will add that much

more intrigue. Both with their record at 4-0, the Bulls and Huskers secured playoff spots.

We'll have to wait a weekend or two before we can start locking in seeding. Depending

what happens this weekend, we could see a battle of the unbeatens come in week 6. No

team has yet to be eliminated from playoff contention, but the Bros will need to pick up a

win this week to keep their hopes alive. The battle for the sack title really ramped up this

past weekend as the elite pass rushers put on a display. In the first game, Mike Timm got

things going with two sacks. Not wanting to be out done, Mario Lopez pulled in three sacks in

the second game of the day. Then, in ridiculous fashion, Mike Uribe grabbed an impressive 4

sacks in game three. The sack-a-thon didn't stop there as DaJuan Thomas topped all of them

with five, yes you read that right, five sacks in game four. The sack leaders are in that

reverse order with Thomas 1st, Uribe 2nd, Lopez 3rd and Timms 4th. The five-sack game for

DaJuan earned him defensive player of the week with Duece Richardson getting his second

offensive player of the week award for his five-touchdown performance against the Rockers.

After this weekend, the playoff picture for both leagues will start to take shape.

Don't look now but CTS is making a statement, the 8-time champions are still around. CTS put

together a complete dismantling of the Rockers. The defense came away with 4 sacks, three

interceptions with two pick six's and held the Rockers offense to a total of 180 yards. Mike

Timm accounted for two of those sacks and DJ Stelly accounted for two of the interceptions,

one for a being taken back for a score. The offense for CTS matched the intensity of the

defense. Duece Richardson threw for four touchdown passes and ran another in on his way to

his second offensive player of the week award in as many weeks. He is also leading the

league in rushing touchdowns with 6. His leading receiver was Teddy Colbert who had three

receptions, 119 yards and two touchdowns. As for the Rockers, it's tough to point much

positives from this game. They'll need to get it together or they could see their strong start to

the season be for nothing. The Rockers will face off against FOE in week 5 in what could be

a get right game for either team. CTS will go up against Menace in a battle to get to get to

three wins first, in what should be the game of the week in the Pro division.

In seasons past this would have been the match up of the season but that was not the case in

week 4. The Huskers would jump out to a 14 to 0 lead in the first half. The Bros would finally get

on the scoreboard in the second half with a touchdown pass from Thomas Singleton to Josh

Morris. Singleton did show some good arm talent, but he is new to the flag game and still

working thing out in. This was another stellar showing for the Huskers defense which was led by

Mario Lopez. Lopez wound up getting three sacks, on his birthday no less. I'm sure the Bros didn't

mean to give him that birthday gift, but he definitely appreciates it, I'm sure. Marcel Knight

would add another interception which makes him tied for the lead with four on the season. On

the offensive side, the Huskers scored what needed to be scored but I wouldn't say it was their

best outing. That is not a knock on them as they did put up four touchdowns against a formidable

defense. Artie Barcelo threw for three touchdowns which keeps him in the lead for touchdown

passes with 13 on the season. Two of those touchdowns went to Antoine Kelly who leads the

league in touchdown receptions. The Huskers will go up against Mile High Built in week 5. The

Bros on other hand, are looking for their first win against a undefeated Bulls squad.

The game between the Bulls and Mile High Built ended up being the closest Pro match up of the

week. In the first half the game was back and forth as we had a 14 to 12 score with Mile High

Built in the lead. Both offenses seemed to move the ball at will in the first half. Trevor Okamoto

of MHB was making smart decisions and played with a ton of poise and confidence resulting in

two touchdown passes. The Bulls offense seemed unstoppable in the first half, at one point,

David Knighton had no incompletions through like 9 or 10 attempts. He would end his day with

three touchdown passes to three different receivers. The offensive line for the Bulls kept David

from getting sacked until late in the game when Broderick Sargent of MHB finally got one.

Speaking of sacks, one huge reason MHB couldn't score in the second half was due to Mike

Uribe turning up the heat. Mike wound up getting four sacks on his former teammate Trevor

Okamoto. As a whole the Bulls got 7 sacks on the day and it looks like they have solved any lack

of pass rush issues from previous seasons. A lot went right for Mile High Built and one of those

things was the reliability of Tommy Hilbert's hands. He hauled in seven passes and several were

for big time first downs. MHB is looking for win number two on the season but will they be able

to get that against the unbeaten Huskers in week 5? The Bulls on the other hand will try to

continue their unbeaten streak when they face off against the Bros in week 5.

With a two-game skid, Menace was extremely hungry to get back on the winning side of things.

Menace made it known when they jumped out to a 15 to 0 lead in the first half. Facing his old

team, Malcolm Whye just went off with 10 catches, 128yards, and 2 touchdowns. With Malcolm's

emergence, that makes this Menace wide receiving core extremely dangerous to go up against.

Things did settle down in the second half as Menace only managed one touchdown against a

tough FOE defense. This FOE defense did their part as they notched four sacks and two

interceptions in the game. Joe Gallegos and D'andre Campos both came up with two sacks a

piece while Austin Hall nabbed the two interceptions. The real story was Menace's defense, which

kept FOE's offense out of the endzone entirely, with DaJuan Thomas leading the way grabbing

five sacks. He also produced pressure that helped create interceptions. Menace would get three

interceptions on defense in the game. The three interceptions came from three different

quarterbacks. I believe there is a saying that goes "if you have three Quarterbacks you have

none." Right now, that is FOE's biggest downfall. They have three talented players but are any of

the three truly Quarterbacks and if they are, are they good enough to have success in the PF3 Pro

division. FOE gets a match up against the slumping Rockers in week 5. Will they platoon QB's

again or will they pick one and go with him. For Menace, the competition takes a step up when

they face CTS. With CTS surging, a fast start for Menace is key for the victory on Sunday.

Getting the Comp games started was the 1-2 Lightning vs 0-3 Empire. Things started off

well for the Lightning as they got on the board first with a 16-yard touchdown pass from

John Everhart to Jalene Simpson. Empire would answer back on a 6-yard pass from Andrez

Gallion that found Nate Simmons for the touchdown. After those two scores, it was the

defense for both teams that stepped up. For the Lightning, Jalene Simpson and Doug

Clinkscales got themselves an interception each that kept Empire from scoring in the first half

again. Empire's defense got key sacks from Eric Mondragon and Travin Harris that kept

Lightning out of the endzone for the remainder of the half. Empire would own the second

half of the game by outscoring the Lightning 19 to 12. Andrez Gallion found Ale Reyes for

two of those touchdowns. After Jalene Simpson second reception, the Lightning declared an

onside play. The onside try ended up being successful when John Everhart connected with

Jalene Simpson once again for a 34-yard completion. With only seconds remaining, the

Lightning tried a Hail-Mary but it ultimately failed. With this win Empire has kept their

playoff hopes alive and will take on Do Not Disturb in week 5. As for the Lightning they sit

tied in record with Empire, but this loss hurts their playoff hopes. They'll need to rebound

against the Disciples as there is only three weeks remaining.

Kryptonite's offense has shown signs of improvement with each passing week. They set a new

season high in scoring this week when they dropped 28 points on Mortal Kombat. Kyle

Gallup is getting a better feel for this flag game as he added another three touchdown

passes in this game. He connected twice with Bryan Daldegan and once to Erland Stribling.

The defense for Kryptonite has continued to play at a high level as they only gave up the six

points in this one. Kryptonite would get another pick six from Steve Heit but this one was a

99-yard return. As for Mortal Kombat their lone bright spot came from a 2-yard touchdown

pass from Taiwo Akolade to Aaron Dougherty in the first half. Kryptonite will now turn their

attention to the Mustangs to further their playoff position. Mortal Kombat on the other hand

will face off against a very formidable opponent in the Chiefs. MK's playoff hopes could be

dwindling if they don't come away with a win in week 5.

Before the game started this match-up had the makings to be a slugfest. Well that didn't

turn out to be entirely true as it took the Chiefs till late in the second half to come up with

their first points. That wasn't the case for Swift as they held a 14 to 0 lead at the half behind

two Julian Banks touchdown passes. Dwayne Autry intercepted Mondo Delgado to stop the

Chiefs first drive. On fourth and four the Chiefs missed a flag for a sack opportunity that

resulted in a first down. Other than that one score for the Chiefs, it was all Swift in the

second half as well. Julian Banks ran two scores in and added a touchdown pass to Stephen

Mamuzich. The Chiefs will try to rebound against Mortal Kombat in week 5. The Chiefs are

sitting in very solid position for the playoffs, but a win will go a long way to keep seeding in

their favor. Swift's red October continues against 4 and 0 VIP. That sets up to be the game

of the week with two teams that have Pro league talent.

As many anticipated, VIP controlled this game from start to finish. VIP with their years of

experience took full advantage by getting a mercy rule with twelve minutes left in the to go

in the second half. In the first half VIP scored 28 points to DND none. The scoring got started

by a one handed 34-yard touchdown catch by Russell Curtis. Russell also had a 53-yard

pick six on the day. Kevin Miller hauled in two touchdown receptions on the day for VIP. One

of Miller's TD receptions came in the second half which ended up being the knockout blow to

end the game. VIP is the only 4-0 team left, can they push it to 5-0 this weekend when they

go against Swift. As for DND, their playoff hopes are quickly dwindling. If they want to have

any chance at the playoffs, they'll need to get a win against Empire this weekend.

This was a game between teams on opposite spectrums. The Disciples are now sitting at 3-1

and have a ton of experience. The Mustangs on the other hand sit at 1-3 and are an

extremely young squad. The Disciples used that experience to put up 18 points before the

Mustangs could get anything going. The Mustangs finally scored on an extra point

interception return by Nate Mitchell. Nate would get a second interception at the end of the

game, but by then it was too late. Dero Ard of the Disciples would end the day with two

passing touchdowns and one running touchdown. Quay Hill would get a game sealing sack

to go along with his two bat downs. While the Mustangs have shown some progress through

the season, it's always tough when they go against a very veteran team. Another veteran

team they'll face in week 5, they’ll have Kryptonite up next. The Disciples could potentially

lock in a playoff spot this weekend when they go up against the Lightning.
