{The moon is an incredible ob-ject: it controls the tide, maintains synchronous rotation with Earth, and is the brightest object in the sky after the sun despite an ex-tremely dark surface. From our perspective, this glowing object operates on a cycle, which begins again, brand new, almost month-ly. The moon is a constant in our lives and our society, affecting ev-erything from when we swim to when we harvest crops. For this issue, in light of la lune, we exam-ined cycles, patterns, and begin-nings, while simultaneously delv-ing into the eclipse from reality style can sometimes bring to us. It seems that, especially in the win-ter months, fashion can assume a position of lesser importance when comfort and warmth come into play. But cycles are not al-ways good, and sometimes rather than settling for ease in the drag-ging months preceding spring, it is healthier to challenge ourselves to be better and keep growing, whether in fashion or greater as-pects of our lives. Style is merely a setup for how we approach the outside world, and while dismiss-ing temporary comfort is unset-tling, it is necessary for progress. We must make the world uncom-fortable with our actions. Ideals are just that: idealistic. They are not personal, and certainly not beneficial. Individuals are what make up the great collective of our world. So as our world con-tinues to change around us and the moon works it’s wonders, there is a question we must ask ourselves: do we follow the tide and succumb to societal ideals? Or do we break the cycle?}
