Graphic Design Workshop for students of the

department was conducted on 17 Sep 2016 to canvas

their ideas on walls of department.

This is my privilege to be the faculty editor of the departmental e-Newsletter along with the student editors and also a

huge responsibility towards presenting the image of the department in front of its readers. A new beginning towards

extending our reach to the people and making the readers getting aware of the activities happening in the department

on a regular basis. This very basic endeavor urges reader’s attention and sincere feedback.

Orientation Programme

Visit to INIFD, Bittan Market, Bhopal on 30/07/2016 to see Project

Exibition “AAROH” by Second and Final Year Students of INIFD along

with the Guest Lecturers Ms. Meenakshi and Ms. Garima Puri to be

aware of the works and presentation skills of the students of other

institutions and to know where they stand out.

Events/ Programmes

Site Visit

An Orientation Programme was organized on 22 August 2016 for newly admitted

students to get acquainted with academic know-hows; various facilities available to them

within college campus; various administrative sections to whom they have to interact with

during their academic period. Shri. K.V. Rao, Principal of the College welcomed the

students in the institution. Concerned faculty and staff presented the overview of facilities.

Interior Designer Keerti Shrivastava delivered a

Guest Lecture and demonstrated materials on

Modular Kitchen design on 22nd August 2016.

Department of Architecture and Interior Design hosted the “Project

Competition 2K17” for the final year students. The event was jointly organized

by The Institution of Engineers [India], Madhya Pradesh State Center and

Students Chapter of Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Bhopal on 20

May 2017. Mr. Sunil Joshi, secretary of IEI [India] was the chief guest and the

judge for the event. He addressed the students of the department about the

practical knowledge required and avanues in profession. He also showcased

complete project drawings of a project.

A guided site visit of second and final year students was

organised on 21 November 2016 by Ms. Keerti Garg to

Spring Valley, Katara hills, Bhopal, an ongoing residential

colony development project to study grouping of plotted &

multistoried buildings, layout of various services and

amenities.

A Visit to Nirupam Campus Bhopal was organized on 20

& 27 April 2017 under the Coordination of Dr. Aradhana

Hans and Kiran Sharma and guidance of Kamna Mudgal,

Civil Engineer and Interior Designer for students to study

ongoing interior works of shops.

Expert Lecture by Ar. Himanshu Jadon was arranged by faculty Ar. Neha

Deshmukh for the students of Fourth and Sixth semester of the department on 7

March 2017 to provide an insight into presentation skills on Sketch-Up through

rendering and creating visual effects of environment and other objects.

Expert Lecture by Ar. Himanshu Jadon was arranged by faculty Dr. Prateek Manke for the students of second, fourth and sixth

semester of the department on 25 March 2017 on “Advance Technology for Modelling” as a part of Course CAD-II.

A survey on Construction Hardware & Tools to Hariom Hardwares, MP

Nagar, Bhopal on 22 March 2017 to understand purpose and usage of

Hardware & Tools in construction and a Case study visit to DB Mall, MP

Nagar, Bhopal on 19 April 2017 to study different type of false ceiling

treatments and variations in constructional detailing of IV semester

students was coordinated by faculty Ar. Neha Deshmukh.

Students of second and final year participated in 3Day (15 to 17 September 2016) Workshop on “Interior Design Concepts and

Practices” organized by Architectural Assistantship department, Sardaar Vallabh Bhai (S.V.) Polytechnic College, Bhopal .

Dr. Charumitra Patil, Sr. Lecturer delivered an expert

lecture on “Energy Efficient Practices” on 17/09/16 in

3 Days Workshop on “Interior Design Concepts and

Practices” organized by Sardaar Vallabh Bhai (S.V.)

Polytechnic College, Bhopal.

She also facilitated one day workshop for departmental faculty as a

resource person on Institute’s E-learning portal “LMS-GWPBPL”

organized on 18/03/17 by GWPC, Bhopal.

Dr. Charumitra Patil, delivered a Talk for All India Radio, Bhopal on

“Environment Management in Slum Redevelopment” on 30/05/2016

broadcasted on 14/06/2016.

Dr. Prateek Manke, Sr. Lecturer, awarded

with Ph.D. in Architecture and Planning

from MANIT Bhopal in December 2016.

His research topic was “Decision Support

System for Integrating and Evaluating

Energy Performance into Building Design

Process”.

Ms. Sushama Gokhale, Sr. Lecturer, published a research

paper on “Review of Decentralised Planning Initiative and

Local Government Functions in India” in Local

Government Quarterly journal of All India Institute of Local

Self Government, Mumbai, October-December 2016.

A Workshop on “Latest Trends in Material Used in Interior Design” was organized on 16, 17 April 2017 for all the students of the

department. Interior Designer Rinki Parihaar and Civil Engineer & Interior Designer Kamna Mudgal, New Leaf (Consultants), were

invited as resource person. The workshop showcased materials and catalogues of latest floor and wall finished.

Trainings/Workshops/ Seminars

Professional/ Cultural Participation

Student of the all the three years participated in various

activities/events of IIID Design Yatra organized by

Institute of Indian Interior Designers, hosted by Bhopal

Centre at Bhopal from 28 Jan to 10 Feb 2017. This 14 days

“Yatra” (Journey) at Bhopal was a part of A Countrywide

awareness campaign for taking design to masses and

included Heritage Walk, Trade Visit, Art and Design Fest,

Cyclothon, Visit to World Heritage Site-Sanchi and

nearby other historical locations.

Raisen respectively

Dr. Aradhana Hans, I/C HoD awarded with Ph.D. in

Architecture and Planning from MANIT Bhopal in

June 2017. Her research topic was “Framework to

Address Urban Residential Water Use Issues in

Development Plan”.

Achievements

week training programme on “Managerial Skills for Technical Teachers and

Administrators” organized from 15-26 May 2017 by Department of Management,

NITTTR, Bhopal.

Students of Second and Final Year attended a Workshop on Latest Auto cad version “Fusion 360” organized on 6, 7 APRIL 17 by

Civil Engineer Mr. Lalit Baghel, Faculty representative from Autodesk at Rashi Institute of Software Education, M.P. Nagar, Bhopal.
