"THIS TOO SHALL PASS" In the midst of these times, I can reach out and
offer a pray or word of encouragement.I findthat it’s in these times that I AM connected. Ihave been clinging to God’s word inDeuteronomy 31:8 that states, “The Lordhimself goes before you and will be with you; hewill never leave you nor forsake you. Do not beafraid; do not be discouraged.” This is a new lifeverse that I am committing to memory. If you, too, are struggling and can identify withany of these things, I suggest you do the same.Stand on God’s word. Also, be in communitywith others. God has gifted you with your ownarea of influence. People need to hear from youand you need to hear from them. God’s grace and peace be with you all!
We all have fears, insecurities, and feelings ofpowerlessness. At least, I do. I am a very social person and I’mfinding I NEED human interaction. Desperately. As I work from home, watch church from myphone, sit in on Zoom meetings, take walks orhikes to get a mental break, I still find it difficultto come to grips with it everything that ishappening. So, what am I to do? I believe I’m still called to bein community with others and be in deeprelationships, even during this pandemic. So, Isend texts, make calls and send cards to others, letting them know they are missed, loved, prayedfor and not alone.
"Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary;praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him forhis mighty deeds; praise him according to hisexcellent greatness!" Psalm 150:1-6 I don’t know about you, but there have beendays lately that I have not wanted to praise theLord. There has been frustration, anger, uncertainty and helplessness. Yet, when I startto sing, play the piano, play my trumpet, the JOYof the Lord takes over. David writes in Psalm 100, “Make a joyful noise tothe Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord withgladness! Come into his presence with singing!Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who madeus, and we are his; we are his people, and thesheep of his pasture."
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and hiscourts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless hisname! For the Lord is good, his steadfast loveendures forever, and his faithfulness to allgenerations.” My encouragement is to SING, even in theshower! The song doesn't matter, only the songin your heart! Make a joyful noise unto the Lordand the JOY of the Lord will be present, and wewill know of His glory! We will know and bereminded of the LOVE He has for us. The LOVEthat came to earth, died on a cross and roseagain! Now there is a reason to REJOICE and givePRAISE! AMEN!

Covid 19 has affected all aspects of our lives. Thecommon denominator for us is the loss of worshippingtogether on Sundays. Zoom meetings and website talksare now the new norm. We miss meeting together andsharing worship to our God with our brothers and sistersin Christ. Particularly hard was missing Holy Week.Nothing replaces lifting our voices together to praiseGod. I believe that one unfortunate aspect of this situation isthat we feel isolation and separation, and that can causeanxiety. Many church members have no family and arenow alone at home. Others cannot meet with otherfamily members and friends for fear of infection. Whatcan we do to mitigate this? We can reach out to friends, family members and acquaintances via telephone calls, emails and a written notes. Who do you miss seeing atchurch?
How about that friend you haven’t seen for several weeks.Do you know a shut-in? Ask if they are okay. Ask if theyneed help with anything. Share how you miss seeingthem. Contact two or three people each week in your ownarea of influence to show how Christ lives in us. Reassureothers that no matter what the quarantine circumstances,God is always with us. If the person you reach out to needs some assistance, andit is more than you can handle, please send a note toPastor Jeff at [email protected]. If you are willingto help also leave a note with Pastor offering yourservices. If you have any questions, or ideas how to help, pleasereach me at [email protected].
