Quality Teaching Quality Learning Quality Community

Dear Lovely Lawson,

Wonderful changes to our Learning Spaces

The Stage Three classrooms were painted with the plaster work fixed. Fantastic effort on the part of our Stage Three Teachers Viv and Kirsty for the organisation that went into getting the classrooms packed up and then unpacked again. Pop in to have a look!!

Our Capability Classes have been given a new Atrium and activity space with lovely carpet. We are very thankful to receive these from the Department’s Asset Management system.

Elder’s Luncheon

Today our choir performed beautifully at the Elder’s Luncheon at the Lawson Community Centre. Thank you to Jenny Gillett for all of your hard work coordinating this event, which we highly value within our community.

Congratulations Mr Hollins

We congratulate Phil on receiving word his transfer has been approved. This is the 2017 forced transfer position which was under review over 2018. We wish Phil all the best in whichever new school he is assigned to and will enjoy his final term with us in the Instructional Leader role.

Internet Safety _Mobile phone and Device use!!

Ongoing issues with students who have mobile phones are always upsetting to hear about. As a school we teach cyber safety and responsible digital citizenship – The best way to beat this is through strong Parental supervision!

Well done to you all for taking a proactive role in monitoring your child’s IT use.

LAMP !! Lateness and Attendance Monitoring Program 2018

Our thanks to all the students parents and carers helping us get a better learning time in the morning by arriving on time.

Lawson Parents have a great track record already in relation to explaining absences – Well Done. Classroom teachers will be contacting parents and monitoring lateness and any unexplained absences. We are hoping to work with families to support your child to fulfil their life opportunities.

Upper Blue Mountains Dance Festival

Our amazing dancers are travelling up to Katoomba High School this Wednesday with Mrs Way and Mrs Gasparre. The students are again performing on the big stage on Wednesday night. Many thanks again to all the wonderful costume helpers and Tania for her choreography. There will be a special performance at our Assembly soon so that we can all see what these talented children have been working so hard towards.
