Examples: A student with 3rd Period PE and 4th Period Bible would turn in a note on Monday stating that they will be exempt from the 3rd Period exam and will be at school at 10:15 to take the 4th Period exam. A student with 5th Period Science and 6th Period PE must send in a note by Monday that states that they will be exempt from Period 6 exam and will, therefore, be dismissed (and sign out) at 9:50. The students must have a ride. They cannot just hang out, wander the halls, or go off to places like Target or McDonalds. Grades 6-12 dismiss at noon on Tuesday -Thursday to allow time to study for exams. Please make arrangements to pick your 6-12 grade students up at noon. We understand that there may be rare cases when you just cannot pick them up at noon, and we are going to try to have study rooms for just those students in this unique situation. Please understand that this is supposed to be the teachers free time for grading. It is not a babysitting service. It is just our attempt to help those who have no option. The students need to understand that it is a study time for exams and that they will need to study quietly. If they are loud and disrup-tive of others who are staying, then the parents will have to come pick them up, and they will not be allowed to stay past noon the other exam days. They will get the best study time at home, so that would be the best option. Late Stay will still run those days (3:15-5:30) just for those who do not have rides. If you are not able to pick them up at noon any of these days, please send in a note by the end of the day Monday so we know how many to plan for. Please do not just leave them or forget and then send a note later. We are doing this service to try to help you., so please have the courtesy to help us plan effectively. Tardiness Please remember that school starts at 8:00. We understand that some families travel a great distance to be here, and we appreciate that. We also understand that sometimes things hap-pen along the way. However, if you are consistently 5-10 minutes late, then it is because it takes 5 or 10 minutes longer to get here. Please plan to leave earlier. Tardiness not only af-fects your child's education, but it also disrupts the teacher and the other students. Robotics Club We are checking the interest in the possibility of starting an after-school Robotics Club for the Middle School. Please see information in this newsletter, and respond to the infor-mation if you have interest.

Therefore, this year we are adding a 7:00 PM Service on Thursday, Janu-ary 18. Do you have an interest in solving problems, perhaps being the next Albert Einstein or Thomas Edison?

Well, CCS is finalizing plans for an afterschool STEM class based on VEX IQ Robotics starting after the Christmas break. The curriculum is geared more for middle school students, and no prior knowledge is needed. The cost will be $10 to cover the cost of the student book, which they will keep. This will be a hands-on class, so a Robotics kit will be provided for in-class use. If you are interested in reserving your spot or if you have more questions, send an email to [email protected]. Please include the student's name and grade level.

Preschool

K2 - Mrs. Richardson In K2, we're counting down to Christmas! In fact, we are counting everything in sight -- shepherds and sheep, stars and angels, wise-men and their gifts, Christmas trees and ornaments, gingerbread men, cookies and candy canes, presents, and more! And did we mention ONE tiny little baby born in Bethlehem? He is God's special gift to us! Each day, we are enjoying our advent celebration as we read the Christmas story from God's Word and add a new piece to our manger scene. It's so much fun to celebrate the birthday of our King! Check out what we did this week on our website! https://spark.adobe.com/page/IPjDXl6fs1pSk/

K3 - Mrs. Myers This week the K3 class learned the letter J. We turned our letter J into our favorite kind of juice. We also painted our hands to look like a jellyfish and added bubbles to look like the ocean. We learned about different animals that live in the jungle and made a jungle picture. Thursday we added a jacket to our big letter J pic-ture. Friday we made jelly bread and had some for snack. We also continued to learn about Christmas in Bible and how Mary and Jo-seph traveled to Bethlehem to pay taxes and be counted. Next week we will learn about Jesus’ birth. Check out what we did this week on our website! https://spark.adobe.com/page/2nShumz2TPuoQ/

K4 - Mrs.Crago This week, the Gingerbread Man stole our gifts! We chased him and caught him, and to be sure he wouldn’t do it again, we ATE him! We also blessed others at school with our beauti-ful voices as we went Christmas caroling. We finished the week by making fingerprint Christmas lights. Elementary

Kindergarten—Mrs. Bassler and Mrs. Hendra Hats off to our Kinder class for their performance in our Christmas Nativity Play last Friday evening! Every-one did a great job and had fun singing and acting for our family and friends. Dressing up was a definite thrill! A special “Thank you” goes out to Mrs. Keel for getting all the costumes ready! Our students are learning addition facts in Math and have begun using flashcards and playing games that will reinforce speed. Reading is going very well. Thank you, parents, for all the reinforcement at home. We could not do this without you. Marking vowels and learning special sounds in our Abeka phonics has helped us greatly with our reading skills. We are all busy getting ready for Christmas. Crafts-r-us as we continue to decorate our room and make special gifts. Party plans are underway as we create our very own piñata! We continue to enjoy special stories that go along with Christmas, as well as yummy treats. Check out what we did this week on our website! https://spark.adobe.com/page/kqY24RaaCnoh9/

1st Grade - Mrs. Beard Our Student of the Week is Peter Perez. Congratulations to you, Peter, for a great week. The girls and boys did a wonderful job on Friday evening at their concert. It was so nice to hear their sweet voices sing-ing about this very special season! We had a very special treat on Monday. The students were also amazing on Tuesday when they performed at the Town Mall. We had several people compliment them as we were walking through the mall. We all had a special time eating at the mall and spending time with our families and friends. The students are doing a ter-rific job in class, also. We are learning new things each week, and our reading and math skills continue to make progress. In history, we are learning aboutgreat Americans like George Washington, Abra-ham Lincoln, and Benjamin Franklin. The students have been surprised about all the inventions and ide-as of Ben Franklin. Our “Good Behavior” trees are looking fabulous! Check out what we did this week on our website! https://spark.adobe.com/page/fxKdh2BLOJqck/

2nd Grade - Miss Sachs The elementary put on a fantastic Christmas program last Friday! It was a beautiful mes-sage about how to give to others at Christ-mas time. Thank you, Miss Munoz and stu-dents, for all your hard work! On Tuesday, the elementary schoolers went caroling at the Town Mall and sang some of the Christ-mas songs from the program. It was a bless-ing to many and sounded awesome! We have been busily working on our schoolwork amidst counting down the days till Christmas break! Second grade is working on our first book reports and will be presenting them later this week. We are looking forward to our Christmas party next Friday! 4th Grade - Mrs. Eckard

4th grade had a wonderful time on Friday evening at the Christmas Program, and Mrs. Eckard was so proud of them and all of their hard work. They did an excellent job singing for Super 60's last Thursday and then led the elementary Chapel on Monday morning. We headed to the Mall on Tuesday to sing again. It was a fun time, too. Thank you Je-sus for this beautiful season of the year. The music of this time of the year is just wonder-ful. Check out what we did this week on our website! https://spark.adobe.com/page/Qj3h6F3PnHHis/

5th Grade - Miss Castaneda

This week fifth grade had lots of fun celebrating the season and The Lord's birth by participating in the Christmas program and the caroling at the Town Mall. They enjoyed singing all the Christmas songs and, through them, being a testimony to all who heard of what the true meaning of Christmas is! We also celebrated Lance Bond's birthday and took time to thank the Lord for allowing him to be a part of our class!
