Issue 2 – Term 1 – Week 6 Monday, 2nd March 2015
Issue 11 – Term 2 – Week 10 Wednesday 3 July 2019
Dear Students, Parents / Carers and Families
We had a wonderful day at the Hunter Sports Centre, Glendale for our Athletics Carnival today. Thinking I was a parent, the ladies in the canteen told me that it was the best carnival they had seen in terms of organisation. Thank you to Miss Le-Leu and Miss Gruber for their outstanding organisation. Many thanks to all of the staff and parents who assisted in the running of events. I was exceptionally proud of our amazing students. The level of participation was high and I was particularly proud of our Stage 3 students who demonstrated their leadership skills through their assistance and support of younger students. Semester 2 reports will be distributed on Friday. Please take the time to read your child’s report and praise them for the superb effort they have put into their learning this semester. While reading the reports, I have been extremely proud of the academic achievements and social and emotional progress that each of our students has made so far this year. To celebrate Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), our students will engage in PBL rewards day on Friday. Activities will include: movies, sporting activities, technology time and cold rock ice-creams.
Congratulations to David for representing Westlakes PSSA at the Regional Hunter trials for Softball.
With holidays commencing this Friday, I continue to be concerned about students’ inappropriate use of social media. Please refer to eSafety Commissioner website (www.esafety.gov.au) for updated parent resources for keeping our children safe. The site also has information about the suitability of apps for our students.
Have a safe and happy school holiday break and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 23 July.
Kind Regards Kristy Luff
Principal
