What a surprise, it certainly prompted me to pull out my winter clothes, and lament the growing hole in my slipper ;-) The Waiouru School Board of Trustees met in the week before the Easter Break and resolved to co-opt two new members to our Board. We would like to welcome Kina Tucker, and Meaghan Sayers to our Board and we look forward to the input they will be able to contribute to our school. We had our first full Board meeting on Tuesday night, where we were able to pass our 2015 Charter so I will put it up on the school website over the weekend. Board newsletter will be coming out Tuesday next week. Another big thing we were able to sort out on Tuesday night was approval for a new school sports top. We had actually added this to our school uniform list quite a while ago, but we were still trying to find a reasonably priced, good quality top. Thankfully, I had a chat with Nuku (the principal) at Raetihi School and they had just purchased really great tops from a uniform company in Whangarei. They have worked out to be about $20 per shirt including embroidery and screen printing (a good $10 cheaper than anywhere else!). They are sending me samples this week, and I will have them up in the office for you to look at. We will begin to take orders once the design is confirmed, and you will be able to add the cost to our school account. We are also going to get adult shirts with “Team Waiouru” on the back that you can purchase for around $25. Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend, and I hope to see many of you at the dawn ANZAC service. Please remember children should be in full school uniform as we have a role in both services.
