Heavy Civil Infrastructure business undertakes design, engineering and construction of projects in Metros, Ports, Tunnels, Special Bridges, Hydro Power, Nuclear Power and Defence infrastructure sectors.

L&T has supplied critical equipment and built almost every nuclear power plant in India. Its portfolio includes the Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant and the Kudankulam Plant.

L&T offers comprehensive construction services for building hydropower projects including geo-technical and foundation engineering works. The IC continues to undertake major landmark projects in Ports & Hydel, such as the 171 MW Lata Tapovan Hydropower project in Uttarakhand and the 850 MW Ratle Hydropower Project in Jammu & Kashmir.

Some of the key projects completed by the business include Kattupalli port cum shipyard facilities in Tamil Nadu and the 520 MW Parbati HEP in Himachal Pradesh.

The Buildings & Factories (B&F) IC undertakes engineering design and construction of airports, IT Parks, office spaces, educational institutions, stadiums, convention centers, metro stations, hospitals, hotels, residential buildings, factories, cement plants and warehouses. Construction excellence coupled with technology, experience and expertise gained over several decades has established B&F business as one of the premium contractors in the industry, not just within India, but also overseas. The strategy of “Concept to Commissioning” has allowed B&F to maintain its position as Industry leader, retaining key customers, entering new markets and securing major orders. The B&F IC has received repeated large orders from the likes of Cognizant, TCS, Omkar and DLF.

Understanding the finer aspects & nuances of complex factory designs allows B&F to cater to the intricate relationships between people, machinery, raw materials, operating process and circulation patterns of a modern factory complex. Our design looks beyond the present & incorporates provisions for future expansion, modification and rectification plans.

The PT&D business is a leading EPC player in the field of Power Transmission and Distribution business offering integrated solutions and end-to-end services ranging from design, manufacture, supply installation and commissioning of transmission lines, substations, distribution networks, electrical & instrumentation works for power, process & infrastructure projects, communication systems in both domestic & international markets.

The IC works with organizations such as PGCIL, NPCIL, state utilities and other private players in Generation, EHV transmission & distribution segment. Major Transmission Line projects include 800 kV HVDC Line from Champa to Kurukshetra, 400kV Line from Kurukshetra to Jalandhar, Barh to Gorakhpur & Biharsharif to Sasaram for PGCIL. In industrial projects, the IC has worked with and continues to work with major clients including HSM, Tata Steel, NMDC and NPCIL.

It is said that roads are the lifeline of an economy. The Transportation Infrastructure (TI) business has, over the years, made remarkable contributions in this regard, by undertaking major projects in roads, runways, elevated corridors, railway construction and railway systems.

L&T has executed numerous expressway and highway projects in India conforming to international standards, using bitumen as well as concrete. L&T’s expertise also covers construction of hi-speed motor race and test tracks with high levels of precision and specialized surface treatment.

In Railways, L&T holds the unique distinction of energising major trunk routes in the Indian Railway networks in record time since 1981. L&T has a proven track record of over 7500 tkm of railway electrification, 700 tkm of track construction, and more than 30 traction substations including India’s first 2x25 kV AC 220 switching stations.

L&T GeoStructure, is a part of the USD 12.8 billion Larsen & Toubro conglomerate.

With over four decades of experience, it has wide expertise in all kinds of geotechnical and underground works, with specialist staff and state-of-the-art equipment from best of sources around the globe. Geotechnical exploration involves a wide range of activities such as drilling, sampling, field-testing, laboratory testing and reporting.

Supply, clarification, desalination and distribution projects constitute a vital thrust area for L&T Construction in the water sector. Through its dedicated business group – Water & Effluent Treatment Independent Company, L&T Construction offers total solutions right from concept to commissioning of urban and rural water supply, water treatment plants, waste water treatment and network, industrial and water effluent treatment and lift irrigation projects.

L&T has executed many projects under this sector including the waste water treatment plant at Mahul, Sai Ganga approach canal, 43.50 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Kavoor in Mangalore, Approach bridge and pipeline for Vizag and 40 MLD Final Effluent Treatment Plant at Ankleshwar are some of its projects in India. frequeNtly asked questioNs1. When will our Place of posting be communicated to us? How will we travel to our place of

posting? Place of posting is generally communicated during the Orientation. The company will make travel arrangements to your place of posting.

2. Can we bring our parents to stay with us during the Orientation? Your parents can accompany you but, as a company policy accommodation is not provided for parents.

3. What time should we reach the hotel on June 29th, 2016? You can reach the hotel at any time from 8:00 AM in the morning till late evening.

4. What is the duration of the Orientation? You will have a common Orientation till July 02, 2016. Post which you will have your IC Orientation, duration of the IC Orientation varies for every IC.

5. Can the Joining be deferred to a later date? Joining cannot be postponed as all GETs for the year are Joining on June 30th, 2016. Although for some genuine reasons you may get in Touch with your IC HR. (Contact details on last page)

6. A few of my friends have received a survey to give their preferred location for posting, but I have not received any such survey. Where can I give my location preference? Different ICs have different forms that need to be filled prior to Joining. You may check with your IC HR if any such provision is available for you as well.

7. Will we be picked up from the Station/Airport and dropped to our Hotel? No, you need to reach your hotel on your own, We will make travel agreements to & fro from your Hotel to the Orientation venue.

IntrA-EAStErn rEgIOn CrICkEt tOurnAmEnt gAInS mOrE PAtrOnAgEECC Recreation Club-Kolkata recently organized the Intra-Eastern Region Cricket Tournament (20 overs) for Kolkata based employees across offices and sites which saw 12 teams and 192 players participate. 6 teams from West Bengal, 3 from Odisha, 1 from Jharkhand and 2 from Bihar took part in the tournament. The matches were held over weekends at various venues over a period of 3 months.

L&t-ItES At QAtAr gEt-tOgEtHEr fOr A SPOrtIng fIEStAL&T-ites at Qatar got together for a sporting outing and vied for honors across a range of team and individual games that also included an exclusive painting competition for children from 15th January to 19th February 2016. Organized by the Qatar Sports Committee, the event received overwhelming response with 60% of the employees registering for the games that included 12 teams for cricket, 8 for football, 110 competitors for table tennis, 105 participants for carom and 25 children for the painting competition.

The women in BLRO and at the project sites in Bangalore stepped out in style on the occasion of the International Women’s Day. Around 40 lovely ladies from various ICs visited the Mango Mist Resort – located on Bannerghatta Road, and had great fun participating in various games like archery, shooting, rock climbing, water roller, water zorbing, land zorbing, rope climbing, fish-spa and also had a wonderful time at the swimming pool.
