International Summer School at Reading Undergraduate English Literature The School of Literature and Languages at Reading is renowned for its excellence in teaching and research, and tutors are experienced at teaching UK and international students. Course details The study of English Literature provides not only a worthwhile challenge and active pleasure, but also the foundation of a critical and cultural awareness that will remain with you. This summer school course is designed for anyone who would like to study English Literature modules at undergraduate level over a two week period. You will study the Victorian novel, Shakespeare and the Modern World; Modernism; Global poetry and Children’s Literature. If studying for credits, coursework will be assessed by an essay and by contribution to seminars. Course benefits One afternoon per week there will be additional study support to include research methods and a guide to accessing the University of Reading Special Library Collections. Your course tutors will also offer one-to-one essay support. There will be a weekend daytrip, which may be to London, Oxford, Bath or Windsor.
