Welcome to Old Faithful Christian Ranch!

16 1

We are glad to have you here with us!

Each morning before breakfast and again each night before bed, there will be time set aside to go through the devotions in this booklet. Devotions are a personal or small group Bible study and prayer time. There is a devotion for each morning and evening we will be at camp. If you are not already doing daily prayer and Bible reading at home, then this will be a great opportunity to develop a habit that will bring you closer to God and be of great value to you throughout your lifetime.

As you go, take time to memorize the key verses listed at the back of this booklet, and make careful notes concerning what you hear at chapel and campfire times. Above all, stay safe, have fun, and God bless!

* Love like Jesus; GOD FIRST

Read MATTHEW 26:36-44.

1. What is a time in your life when things seemed out of control and you didn’t know what to do?

2. How do you handle times like that? Who or what do you turn to for help?

3. What is different about what Jesus prays in verse 39 and verse 42?

4. Jesus prayed multiple times about this issue. How is that an example for us when we pray?

Loving God like Jesus did when he was here on Earth takes faith that He loves us, hears our prayers and does what is best. Pray and ask God to help you trust him more.

Monday, July 15th Tuesday, July 16th* Love like Jesus; INCLUSIVELY

Read MATTHEW 4:23-25 and 8:1-4.

1. Jesus loved those that were considered “outcasts”. What kinds of people do these verses describe?

2. What kinds of people are “outcasts” today?

3. Describe a time in your life when you, or someone you know was treated like an “outcast”. What feelings or emotions go along with that?

4. What are the reasons that God wants us to reach out to the “outcasts”?

Loving inclusively means that we look at “outcasts” differently than the world does. Pray and ask God who he wants you to reach out to.

Having younger brothers and sisters may be a pain sometimes, but we are to humbly love them. Pray and ask God to give you His love for all your siblings (or those that are like a brother or sister).

“One Another” Passages in ScriptureMemorize these verses for extra cabin points!

John 3:16-17 John 13:34-35 Romans 12:9-18 Ephesians 4:31-32 I Corinthians 13:4-7 Mark 12:28-31 Psalm 145:8-9 John 15:12-13 Psalm 18:1-2 The Romans Road (Page 12)

EXTRA POINTS: After memorizing and reciting all these verses, AND the Romans Road, you may choose your own verses to recite. Also, try memorizing the books of the Bible in order from Genesis to Revelation.

Memorizing Bible verses can seem like a big task, so we’ve included some tips to help you on your way.

• Take it one bite at a time! Sometimes repeating two or three words over and over helps you to commit something to memory faster than swallowing a whole verse at once.

• Find the rhyme. How long does it take you to memorize all the songs on a new CD? You probably only have to hear them two or three times. Try singing your verses (you don’t have to do it out loud) and see how much faster you remember them!

• Find a study buddy. You can practice saying your verses to each other until you’ve learned them word-perfect.

• Don’t let it end at camp! The more you memorize, the easier it becomes. Pretty soon, you only have to read a verse a few times to remember what it says.

Memorization Made Easy!

Then, let us show you what the BIBLE says about the coming of JESUS CHRIST by using THE ROMANS ROAD.

Eternal Life!

ROMANS 3:10 “There is no one righteous, not even one...”

ROMANS 10:9-10 “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

ROMANS 5:8 “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

ROMANS 5:12 “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.”

ROMANS 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

ROMANS 10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

ROMANS 3:23 “...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...”

REVELATION 3:20 “‘Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.’”

Do You Want to Know Jesus?
