Islamic Education – Numbat Level 2012
Numbat Level: Prep and Grade 1

Each week we will be
introducing one of Allah's
attributes.
We will be learning them in Arabic and
understanding the meaning of each attribute.
ALLAH
We will be reflecting on
how Allah has demonstrated his attributes through our daily lives.
Allah (swt) is at the centre of all our learning:
Prophet Mohamed
we will be focusing on
Prophet Mohammed (S) through out the whole year. Each week recognising a part of his life
where each child will compile their
own personal time line for the
prophet Mohammed (S)
Prophet YunisIn term one we will be learning about the story of Prophet Yunis. Reinforcing the idea that Allah is the only one who can help us through our du’as to him.
Prophet YousefIn term two we will be learning about
the story of Prophet Yousef. Reinforcing that we should not show off and that we
should forgive others.
Prophet HudIn term three
we will be learning about
the story of Prophet Hud.
Reinforcing that we always need
to keep our trust in Allah.Prophets
We learn about Prophet Mohammad (S) and other amazing personalities in the Qur’an:
Wudhu and Prayers
In the first term of the year we will be focussing on why me make wudhu.
We continue to reinforce it in term
two.
In the second term we will be focusing on the main action
of prayers, respecting prayer
time and the people praying.
We will continue to reinforce it in term
three.
By term four the children will have the opportunity to implement what they have learnt
during the school prayer times.
HAJJ
We will be going over the story of Prophet Ibrahim briefly, explaining why we go to hajj and going over the steps of Hajj.
EIDDuring this time the children will have the opportunity to celebrate Eid and do something fun in class
to take home to their parents or siblings. We also have our Eid fun day at school with jumping castles and celebrations.
RAMADAN
We will be going through all the steps of Ramadan, from sighting the moon, things we should do during Ramadan and reinforcing basic characteristics of the Prophet Mohammed (S) eg: being
patient and being generous.
AKHLAQ (MANNERS)
Mannerism of waking up and
going to sleep eg: brushing your teeth, making
sure your parents are happy with
you, reading Quran etc.
Mannerism of talking eg:
speaking with respect to your
elders, not yelling and shouting,
making sure you put your hands up
in class etc.
Reinforcing honesty eg:
explaining to the children the
importance of being truthful.
Islamic Practices
Teaching the children to always remember Allah and Islamic Practice throughout the day such as:
what we say before we eat, how do we greet people, how should we treat one another. We will also be learning one Du’a every term ex; what we say when we enter the bathroom.
