How to address end-users with Iskratel Convergent Services? There are two possibilities.The first one is to offer the substitution approach, where a dual-mode handset completely substitutes for the fixed one.

The second one is the integration approach, where both handsets have a single identity.

For fixed operators the latter represents an option, while for mobile operators both options are appropriate.

Iskratel Convergent Services predominantly belong to the pre-IMS network architecture. A smooth migration to IMS represents a logical step for future evolution.

Why a Fixed-Mobile Service Mix? Fixed operators currently make heavy investments in broadband-access technologies. The ever-increasing last-mile capacity has a double effect. Enhanced user experience ensures subscriber loyalty. But on the other hand, the availability of cost-free web services, including very competitive telephony, represents a threat to income.

Fixed-to-mobile substitution is another concern to be faced by fixed operators. Mobility and attractive mobile devices draw users into the sphere of “mobile-only” communications.

Mobile operators are making large investments in radio-network coverage. They are improving their outdoor and indoor coverage. In addition, they have to reduce roaming fees. These two trends impact on the

A data-transport infrastructure with higher capacities and a larger

FMC for VoIP Providers SMS remains one of the most attractive and revenue-generating services in mobile networks. However, the service no longer belongs only to the mobile sphere. Iskratel offers VoIP telephony providers the ability to send and receive SMS messages to mobile and VoIP subscribers.

2. FMC with Soft ClientSoft Client is a downloadable soft phone that acts as a phone terminal installed on a PC or laptop. The solution is suitable for those operators who trust the SIP authentication and those that require a faster and less demanding solution deployment. Because SIM cards and USB keys are obsolete, the carrier instantly reaches a wider audience of potential users.

3. FMC with Dual Mode HandsetThe Dual Mode Handset (DMH) is the ultimate device for users who are willing to pay more to get a true FMC. Subscribers use it as a conventional mobile device or independently as a soft-client device on WiFi hot spots. The user-presence status is visible on the DMH. For this reason the operator adds the presence-based routing as an additional service.To make use of the full potential of FMC an operator offers Voice Call Continuity (VCC), where a voice call is maintained while traversing from the WiFi to the mobile network and back.
