INTRODUCTION
Isiqongo Electrical PTY LTD is a BEE registered company. We do electrical installations,
sub-stations, mini-subs, new installations, Building plans, reticulation of HV MV and LV,
Housing projects, COC’s, Refurbishments, Centre/ Building maintenance and more. We
offer OEM products for substations, energy supply for mining, industrial, commercial, and
domestic.
QUALITY POLICY
Quality improvement is the most effective, competitive strategy for economic survival,
enhanced reliability and superior performance for our output. We are committed to
achieve and maintain quality in all the work we do, by conforming to requirements and are
measured by calculating the cost of non-conformance.

Compliance
Isiqongo Electrical’s Management and Employees are committed to ensure that a Safe
and Healthy Environment exists for all employees as well as for the employees of our
clients. This is achieved by means of the following systems and controls:
- See attached Company SHE policy
- See attached Company SHE plan
- See attached Company Risk assessment policy
- Compliance to Company “lock out” procedure
- Compliance to Company Rules, Regulations and Procedures
- All employees are subjected to daily safety talks before leaving site to perform work.
- All employees are subjected to yearly Safety induction training at KB consultants
which is a formal training program, compromises of an one day training session,
together with an exam which must be passed
- All employees are subjected to yearly I-Campus induction training, consisting of a two
day program and an exam to pass
- All employees are subjected to additional on the job induction at the various sites.
- All employees are subjected to annual medical examinations as required by law.

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT POLICY
Management and employees are committed to ensure a Safe and Healthy environment for
all Isiqongo Electrical employees and employers and our clients personnel, as well as the
public were ever Isiqongo Electrical employees performs work. Safety is our top priority
and all efforts are made to ensure that all involved are aware of possible hazards and
trained to deal with them affectively.
In order to achieve this, the following will be in place to manage this policy.
- Health and Safety plan - Risk assessment policy
- Risk and hazard identification
- Written safe work procedures
- Induction and on job training

injuries and to prevent accidents as far as humanly possible.

OBJECTIVES Isiqongo Electrical objectives are set to achieve zero incidents. This will be measured
against performance on site. Work will be monitored by means of planned task
Observations and deviations from standards will be corrected by re-training or on job
training and in case of serious misconduct, discipline will be applied.
Only competent and trained/skilled employees will be deployed to work on our employers
sites.
Written safe work procedures and instructions are in place and all workers will be trained
on the appropriate standards applicable to them. The site Supervisor and the Safety
Officer will be responsible to make sure no deviations from set standards are allowed and
remedial action is taken during all observations and inspections.
The risk assessments done will be used as a firm guideline when inspections and daily
tasks are carried out.
The following were identified as high risk areas which must be catered for in order to
minimize or eliminate risks to safety, health or impact on the environment:
- Lock out of all energy machinery
- Driving vehicles
- Operating electric or pneumatic tools
- Approved medical surveillance on all employees
- Spillages or pollution
- Hazardous chemical monitoring and control
- Relevant and approved PPE according to environmental risk assessment

Risk assessment policy and CONTROL
METHOLOGY
The employees of Isiqongo Electrical are committed to safe work practices and
therefore before the commencement of any work during such work, risk assessments
will be performed by a competent person, appointed in writing, in co-operation and in
agreement by the workers concerned for that work..
The risk assessment shall form part of the health and safety plan and shall include;
(a) The identification of the risk and hazards to which persons are to be exposed to;
(b) The analysis and evaluation of the risk and hazards identified;
(c) A documented plan and safe work procedures to mitigate, reduce or control the
risks and hazards that have been identified; (d) A monitoring plan, and (e) A
review plan.
To execute (a) above the following needs to be established;
(1) what needs to be done;
(2) who must do it;
(3) how must it be done;
(4) when must it be done; and
(5) Where must it be done?

To execute (b) above the following needs to be established;
(1) tools and equipment required to do the work;
(2) work environment (inside/outside)
(3) ground level or elevated work (working at heights);
(4) hazardous substances to be used;
(5) confined spaces or areas of danger (restricted/prohibited).
To execute (c) above, the combination of the risk and hazards identified in (a), and the
analysis and evaluation of the risks and hazards identified in (b), will dictate the necessary
work procedures required, to control, eliminate, or minimize the risk/hazard.
To monitor and review the process for its effectiveness, a Job Observation control
document will be used to observe compliance to rules, regulation and best practices.
This must be done at random intervals and should be executed without prior warning to
the employees, to enable the person doing the observation to obtain a reliable work
practice which can be measured against the risk and hazards identified. The person
appointed in terms of the act under regulation CR7(1) will be responsible to do the
observation and record deviations as well as implementing corrective action. The
corrective action could be;
(1) training of individuals;
(2) developing new and safer practices;
(3) re-address existing procedures and practices;
