INDUSTRY PROFILE

A hospital, in the modern sense, is an institution forhealth care providing patient treatment by specializedstaff and equipment, and often, but not alwaysproviding for longer-term patient stays.

There are over 17,000 hospitals in the world.

India's healthcare system is developing rapidly andcontinues to expand its coverage, services andexpenditure in the public as well as private sectors.

The origin of the hospital as an independent institution

for the care and treatment of the sick can be dated tothe third quarter of the fourth century CE. The hospitalresolved major tensions in the medical, ecclesiasticaland religious scenes of late antiquity

• Shri J.R. Shah had the vision of providing an

organized Health Care Institute which would serve

mankind without any discrimination of caste,

religion or economic status.

It is this vision which has culminated today into

the Shree Mahavir General Hospital, Shree B. D.

Mehta Heart Institute and Shree R. B. Shah Super

Specialty Hospital.

•Shree Mahavir General Hospital was inauguratedon 11th October 1978.

• .The establishment of this hospital was inspired by

the preaching of Lord Mahavir.

Training:

Training is a process of learning a sequence of

programmed behaviour. It is application of knowledge;it gives people an awareness of the rules and

procedure to guide their behaviour. It is attempt toimprove their performance on the current job orprepare them for an intended job.

Development:

It is training related process. It covers not only those

activities which improve job performance but also

those which bring about growth of the personality.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

• Here, in this Project I used the survey method

and the questionnaire method to analyze theinformation on the topic Training and

Development.• Preparing questionnaire was my first step for the

data collection.

• I collected the data by distributing the

questionnaires to the employees with the roundsof the hospital.

• And further the data collected was analyzed.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:The primary objective of my study at Smt. R. B. Shah

Mahavir Super Speciality Hospital to lay down the

foundation of training and development.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:

My secodary objective is to apply my learning in the

area of human resources so that I can gain significant

practical and understand the nature and importanceof training and development.

Identify, observe and evaluate the stages in a trainingand development program and describe each step.

INTREPRETATIONS

• The organisation provides on the job training to

the employees.

• Keeping good relationship between employee and

employers is helpful for communication.

• 87% of the people say” yes” that training anddevelopment program is a form of motivation to theemployees.

• According to the employees the training anddevelopment sessions are knowledgeable.

SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

To provide off the job training by calling trainers in the organisation.• Employee of the year award should be given.

• The open suggestion box system should be introduced in the companyso that employees can come up with their innovative ideas andsuggestions and the person with best suggestion can be givenfinancial or other kind of reward.

• Formation of committee for various campaigns like tree plantation,AID etc. should be introduced in the organisation.

• One day picnic or a 2-3 days tracking camp can be organised once ortwice in a year.

• Some of the employees are not satisfied with the incentives

provideed to them.• Some of the employees are not satisfied with their coworkers. The

coworkers should talk freely with all employees without any statuskeeping in mind
