School Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide the students of the International School of Bucharest with the best possible programme of
academic and personal development in a challenging and supportive
environment.
Dear Parents,This summer term we are offering a variety of interesting choice of clubs for our
students. We believe that the participation of children in such activities is very beneficial for your child's physical and social skills. As a school we would like as many children to participate in as many clubs as they are interested in.
The clubs will start on the 13th April and continue until the 3rd June 2010. We are offering some new clubs as well as clubs that were very popular from last term.
Regular attendance to club activities is very important for your child as well as other students in the club. Therefore, once you register your child, please make sure that they attend every week to get the full benefit.
If you would like your child to be brought by school bus, please contact directly the transport company.
There are limited spaces for all clubs, so places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The deadline to registering for clubs this term is 23 March 2010. As mentioned, students can register for more than one club provided that they run
on different days. Students can't register for clubs with a note or letter. Please contact the secretary to register your child.
Kind regards,
Faruk Erduran Deputy Principal

Research has shown that extracurricular activities are an important aspect of education. The benefits to students of participation in these activities are numerous.
Extracurricular activities provide all students with equal opportunity to explore their individual interests. The benefits increase with the number and variety of choices so that more students' individual needs and interests can be met.
Through extracurricular activities, students form a positive and voluntary connection to school. Connections are formed between students, faculty and peer groups. Relationships are built between students and positive adult role models who sponsor or participate in these activities. Additionally, it has been shown that this increase in a student's commitment to school and school values can also lead to better academic performance.
ISB administrators and teachers are committed to providing a wide range of extracurricular activities for students. The variety and scope of activities offered is extensive so that every child in the school has a good chance to participate in an activity that is of interest to him or her.
At ISB Primary, students as young as year two class can begin to participate in extracurricular activities. The activities available increase as students get older.
