For companies using small commercial packages (e.g. QuickBooks, Peachtree
Accounting…) and want to convert their vendor, customer and inventory data to Business Anywhere, we will first convert the data to a text (or MS Excel) file and then run our conversion program to update the Business Anywhere database.
For companies using a large data warehouse (e.g. DB2, ORACLE…) and want to continue to use it as their central database, we recommend two options:
1. Implement a program to directly access client database, retrieve
inventory, vendor and customer information from client database and update Business Anywhere database (client database must be ODBC
compatible); 2. Implement a socket provider/consumer application to access client
data through client application program interface (API) (XML is preferred data format for data exchange).
Client may choose to upload transaction data recorded by Business Anywhere to the legacy client database or keep it in Business Anywhere.
Data updates to Business Anywhere may be daily or at scheduled intervals.
